The New Year Blows In

It's cold, it's snowing and its as windy as can be!!
It seems 2009 will come in with a flourish. I remember it was just becoming 2008.. what happened?
The snow storm approached us from the south. The clouds got darker and darker as the morning went on.
I went to the grocer to get a few things and it went from a blue sunny sky to heavy clouds in very short time as the storm began to blow .
By the time I got home big flakes were falling and settling on the ground.
We don't get much snow here usually. We are farther south and out into the ocean , but when it does come, its a nor easter or a southern storm.
Our weather mimics Philadelphia and Delaware as that is what is closer to us.

Frozen water looks so pretty I think.
This is my big pond. The waterfall is breaking through a little bit.

When you were a kid did you break ice in small puddles like we used to do?
It was fun to slide across the big ones, but the small puddles that froze had a thin veneer of ice on them and the cracking sound was wonderful to us so we would break them.

This short video is a fun New Year's tradition that is extremely popular in Nordic nations especially and even in Australia. Many other European nations won't start the year without viewing this at least once!
It is very funny.
I hope you will take the time to view it.

"Dinner For One"......

If you celebrate New Year's Eve, I hope that it is a happy time for you and that you enter 2009 with a smile and a happy heart.

  3. Hi Annie! Happy 2009 to you! I've still an hour to go until the ball drops (on tape delay) and my little buddy Ryan's been asleep since 7:30. Not much of a partier! ;) (((Hugz)))
