Fairies and Hobbits

The child inside us loves to pretend and make believe.

There was delight in my Grandmother's eyes when I made a fairy name for her.

She still had the little girl inside and loved that her inner fairy was named ""Honeysuckle Ice-wing" the fairy who lives amongst the heather . Her wings are pale pink and she wears dresses spun for her out of ice. She is seen only in the evening under starry skies.'

People have been inventing names with stories for ages.
I spent quite a bit of time with tiny relatives, too, looking up their names, inventing stories and tales that make the imagination wander to magical places unseen in the here and now. How they love that!

It gives them another part to their personality and opens up new highways for adventure and flight of fancy.
My fairy name is Lily Moonshimmer.
My hobbit name is Pansy Townsend
My Elven name is Aerin Evenstar
There are all kinds of "generators" online.

You can pick an elvish name, a Hobbit name, a fairy name and the list goes on.
For children or grandchildren I think this might be something special just for them.

You can find fairy names HERE
and Hobbit names HERE. I had a lot of fun doing it. I placed my names on the side column of the page here for the fun of it.
Men like it too though they might not admit it. They stand around saying.... put my name in for the heck of it. They won't admit it's lots of fun for them too.

  1. You come up with such fun things. I am a fortune bringer. I live in leafy dells and bluebell glades. I am only seen when the first leaves fall from the trees. I have multicolored wings like a butterfly and wear bluebell blue dresses.
    Bramble Rainbowtree is my name

  2. Fairy name: Oak Goblinfly
Hobbit name: Iris Tighfield of Tookbank

I think I'd rather be a hobbit! :)When I first met my friend from New Orleasn, she sent us to a site to generate ou "Ya Ya Sisterhood" name. I'm always sceptical of mine since my first name is rather unusual.

What's interesting about our Santa Ana winds is that it often gets warmer at the beach than inland. It was in the upper 70's when the sun was setting last night.

    Enjoy the week ahead! (((Hugz)))

  3. Hi Annie!
    My fairy is Feather Goblinshimmer.
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She lives in high places where the clouds meet the earth.
She is only seen when the first flowers begin to blossom.
She wears pale blue like the sky. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
