Oh , The Weather Outside is Frightful......

AT THE SHORE
Wind Speed: 25 knots
Wind Direction: NE
Sea State: Rough
Condition: Over head
Ocean Temp: 38 F
Wave Height: 9 to 10 ft.

SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH 10 PM THIS EVENING
GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON

It is snowing like crazy and the wind is wild. The surf is huge and it has not stopped snowing since the late afternoon. If you read the surf report at top you can see its pretty wild by the ocean.
The 9 to 10 feet is the average for this storm, not how big they actually get. Those can be a lot larger. I am glad I am snug at home right now.

The snow is the icy kind, not the nice powder kind.

I took some photos of the storm sometime around midnight and ended up watching it and old shows on youtube.

You can see here how high the snow had piled up by midnight on the table outside.

I suspect it's much higher now.

You can even see the snow flakes that reflected off the camera flash.

I like that the best.

Wherever you are, I hope that you are snug and safe and warm tonight.

  1. Wow, that is a lot of snow. Blue skies and temps in the high 50's here. No complaints. Stay warm.
