Russian Tea Cakes

At midnight I wanted cookies but had none so I baked a few dozen of these. I put a few in a dish and took some photos. Gives me something to blog about.

They turned out nicely and I am happily munching away on them as I write.

Sometimes these are also known as Mexican Wedding cakes and Russian Wedding cakes or cookies.

I thought you might like the recipe so I made it up on a small card that I will post here.

You can click on it and copy it.

  2. Hi Annie: Those Tea cakes look wonderful. The taper painter cancelled until next week. He may be good, but I'm not thrilled at this. Have a great day. HUGS

  3. Hi Annie,
Those tea cakes looks delicious. Thanks for the recipe. They kind of remind me of butter balls that people make at Christmas but larger. My mouth is watering here now LOL Have a wonderful Wednesday. I am off to get ready for workie!

  4. Hi Annie! I love how you made a cute recipe card for the tea cakes. That really is a perfect name for them because they do go so well with tea... just melt in your mouth. I'll take a cookie anyday over most other sweets. What kind of nuts did you use? Pecans would be good or even almonds, walnuts...

  5. You have a beautiful house with beautiful furniture. That's also a beautiful glass dish, and the cookies look delightful. Somehow, you've managed to create a Norman Rockwell type setting of Americana and perfection, minus people of course.

  6. My home is average to say the least. I am just good at taking photos that don't show whats not great.

The glass dish is plain glass and was given by a friend who got it at the Habitat for Humanity thrift store for $1.00.

At one time this house had lots of people and still gets it's share of visitors from time to time.

  7. Hi Annie,
oh my sister made those one time she visited and she got the recipe out of my Joy of Cooking recipe book. They are very good! I will have to print your cute recipe card. They look so pretty in the beautiful bowl. Oh I do collect the Old Country Roses. I have for years now and still don't have all that I want, but enough for now. They've almost doubled in price for a place setting when I started buying mine.
That's cute you were in the paper for the smallest skater - awwww
The frozen ocean pictures are beautiful, I've been wondering if parts of the ocean have been frozen here during our cold spell we had. Guess I should have gone early in the morning to check it out, but I don't think it did.
I've changed the name of my blog, so it's still me, if you are getting confused as to who I am *hah*
Have a great day, now I am craving cookies ! I have everything to make them, except I just ran out of nuts, so no nuts in the house, cept me *lol*

  10. What a neat post ! Those cookies sound wonderful...tried to make some once , but forgot to thaw out the butter first . It jumped from softened(in the microwave) to melted and the cookies came out flat(but still yummy !).
Your photo looks so warm and welcoming...thanks again !
