Simply Tuesday

At the Shore:
Wind Speed: 20 knots
Wind Direction: NE
Condition: Head high
Sea State: Rough
Ocean Temp: 58 F
Wave Height: 6 ft

It is chilly here at night, even now in May.
It is hard to complain about weather though, when people around the Mississippi are seeing such awful times and in Japan several towns still inhabited have flooding at high tide because Japan shifted some 17 feet in another direction.This won't change anytime soon without another awful earthquake.
Now the mighty Mississippi is showing just how mighty it is and it reached its crest today I believe.

I remember crossing it as I drove across the country... the best thing I ever did in my life. I highly recommend it to anyone. America is "the Beautiful".
I thought of the pioneers coming to that mighty rolling river  and how they had to cross it.
Not to mention the Missouri River which is equally impressive.
I was reading where snakes, cottonmouths, are all over the place and swimming into homes etc, to avoid the rising river. Not a good surprise to come home too. Not only are they deadly but even if you are saved the tissue damage they do is enormous. I see no need for poisonous things do you? I think they are just plain rude!
So, no complaints here. I'll just be thankful for what is and pray for those who are in trouble right now.

  1. Hi Annie,
    No complaints here either even though our weather changed from the 90's to the 70's this week and a little drizzle yesterday. I feel for all those people. America is the beautiful I have been to a lot of states. I love LA, New Orleans and Montana, Utah and Wyoming are beautiful not to forget New England. Hope you have wonderful day.
    Hugs, Dru

  2. We have rattlesnakes here and they are plentiful in the hills around us where we hike. Kanan and Kali had rattlesnake vaccinations but even if you're vaccinated, you still need to go thru all the anti-venom shots. The vaccine just increases the dogs chance of survival. It was shortly after the booster shot that we noticed Kali's swollen lymph glands and I hoped they were a reaction against the vaccine... but that's when she was diagnosed with lymphoma. Still not comfortable if there was a link so don't think we're going to give them anymore rattlesnake vaccines.

    Hoping New Orleans doesn't have too many problems from the Mississippi cresting! They've had enough!

  5. Happy Wednesday Annie;

    I agree. No complaining about the weather anymore knowing what people in other parts of the country and world are going through. So many disasters and lives lost. I'm thankful for us and prayerful for them.

    Have a blessed day my friend. ;-}
