| The big pond |
Such is the case with this plant that loves the pond. Its roots dangle over the edge for water and the fish enjoy nibbling it all day long. It grows fast enough to keep up with them too.
It planted itself on the edge a few years back and seemed pretty so I left it. The big pond is left more natural than the smaller one which has miniature roses and mountain pinks surrounding it.
The photo does not show how large it is. It grows nicely , however and is not an eye sore so since I am sidelined with back problems it is nice to have nature

Wild strawberry also loves the pond and the runners dangle down over the edge and begin to grow.
For perspective, the large fish in the photo are about 16 inches long.
I have to get a chair that I can sit in to work on the little pond. It's over grown this summer and in need of work.
Hi Annie! Nature is always amazing... I love when we go on hikes to see all the plants and how they grow. They often look like they are designed gardens which, in a way, I guess they are! :) We are going to Mammoth in a bit and there's a hike we go on that looks like it's out of Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteThe boys lasted an hour at the movie which was about what I expected. Once the popcorn and candy was gone, they lost interest. Jacob actually did better than Ryan which was good considering it was his 1st time in a movie theater! (((Hugz)))

Happy Thursday, Annie! Wow, your ponds are beautiful! I'm jealous! I've been trying to talk hubby into putting in a pond for a couple of years now. "They are too much work" blah blah blah. Men! lol
