Summer Things

by the bay
All through the summer our shore town has fireworks on Wednesday nights and there are fireworks several times each month at the park where they have concerts.
We are a tourist area so you have to entertain the tourists who help support the town with taxes and money in the summer.
Their houses lie unoccupied the rest of the year except when they want short weekend holiday and trek down for a bit. But in summertime the population swells as they return for the summertime.
Actually the town isn't small its nany square miles but most of that is forest and lakes and bay and ocean and salt marsh.
Still the little town does a lot to see there are plenty of things to do all through the season.
Fireworks, concerts in the park, special programs at the library all year long. Lots for everyone.

Does your town  have special programs or concerts in the park during the year?

  1. Where I live it's a somewhat small town, they do fireworks in the park that are pretty spectacular, we get people that come from all over the area to watch them. The fireworks is donated by the people that live here. I hope you have a great 4 th of July. I love your topper it's adorable.

  2. Hi Annie,
Burbank always has something going on. We have a wonderful outdoor theater called the Starlight Bowl where they have concerts and fireworks on the 4th. We also can see the fireworks from the Universal Studios every year. We have parades a few times a year. Burbank is full of studios we have Warner Bros and Disney plus we have NBC where they tape the Tonight show. Warner Bros is also where a lot of shows are taped like Ellen so we see a lot of tourist actually year round in our little city which is nestled upgainst the Verdurgo Mountains. Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July, Hugs, Dru

  4. Hi Annie,

I live in a farming community so we have things like the farm fair once a year, the carnival once a year, fireworks on the 4th of July and of course the events that are held at the Fire Dept. Have a wonderful Tuesday and a great 4th!

  5. NYC has the big Macy's fireworks show, which has been held from barges in the Hudson River for the past three (or four?) years. I miss when it was held in the East River near the Statue of Liberty, as Brooklyn had a good view of it. Now I have to travel into mid town Manhattan to see it. Since my husband does not have off on Thursday I think we will stay home this year and watch it on TV.

Enjoy your town's celebration, Annie! Happy 4th!

  6. I love going to my in-laws' cottage, the town has many fun things to do in the summer and it is fun to go exploring in the interlake region, admire the quaint (and expensive!) cottages, go boating, canoeing, etc. I look forward to it every year.

  8. Hi Annie! Yep, lots of firework shows, concerts in the parks, etc... Did you hear about San Diego? They had a malfunction and their entire fireworks show went off in 15 seconds- one big boom! It's pretty quiet in our neighborhood because we are surrounded by hills that could catch fire so you can get in big trouble if you're caught with any fireworks at all. Enjoy the long holiday weekend... it just keeps going! :)
