Chilly and Happy

Got out to run some errands today.
It was wonderful to get outside for the first time in weeks.
It is  very chilly and damp and my hands were so cold after being out and about, but, it was wonderful and coming home to heat in the house was just heaven.
I made some lovely Blonde coffee by Starbucks as soon as I got in....delicious.

It isn't good to stay home too long because you start feeling stagnant I think.    I feel  more alive when I get out.

A few months back I got some new white sheets at Home Goods. They are 'Hotel' sheets. Not sure if that is the brand or the type and the packing bit the dust as soon as I got them opened.

I washed them along with other new sheet sets and quickly threw them on my bed as they were close by.
I have to tell you they are the softest most comfortable sheets I have had in a long time. They were not expensive and washed up so fluffy and soft it was unbelievable. The last time I had soft sheets like this was a long time ago when I tried out muslin sheets. I don't think those are even made anymore but mine were super soft. I am having a happy time sleeping!
I have brought out my Laura Ashley big thick comforter too. So cozy!
I bought it long ago on a lay away plan as it was big money for me in those days. Its a few decades old, in great shape and was a very good investment.

Do you have favorite sheets or blankets for your bed? Ones you would rather not  sleep without?

  1. Hi Annie! I was already here earlier but couldn't resist when I saw on my blogroll you had posted 56 seconds ago! :D I am real fussy about my pillow. I have to have down and I take it with me when I travel. I actually use 2. Justin is crazy about jersey sheets and I didn't think I could find any- he requested as a secondary birthday gift- but they had a whole bunch at Bed, Bath & Beyond- so I guess they're back "in." Usually sheets sold as "Hotel Sheets" have a high thread count which makes them so nice and soft. (((Hugz)))

  2. Hi Annie,
I love my flannel sheets and I have a big plaid comforter that I use year round since living where we live our winters are so mild. I did sleep on the best bed ever when we were on vacation in August I even asked the Hotel what kind of bed was it and wrote it down so maybe some day I will get one. It must be wonderful to get out. I yearn to stay in since I am so busy working but I know someday when I retire the yearning to stay in will go away ;) Hope you have a wonderful evening. Hugs, Dru

  3. Hi Annie! I love pulling out my flannel sheets when it gets colder here. When I put them on, I cannot wait to go to bed at nights! I want to go check out your brand of sheets now. They sound wonderful.

I 'love' the Starbucks graphic & your animated pumpkin siggie. If you don't mind telling me, where did you get them? So nice!

So glad you got out for awhile. You're so right, in the needing to get out if you've been house bound for awhile - begin to go stir crazy. :)

Have a blessed day Annie! So good to be back here! Hugs

  4. Hi Annie;

Love the new changes in here. I know what it feels like to be in an apt. every day with no place to go. As much as I hate shopping, I look forward to my son coming up twice a month to take me out. Now that my sisters are both just 45 minutes away, I get to see them every so often too.
I do have a patchwork quilt bed cover and a throw blanket to match that I love. Not sleeping in a bed, I use the throw pillow on my recliner.
Have a blessed day ahead & weekend. Hugs

  5. Hi Annie! I'm so glad that you were able to get out. I agree with you on feeling stagnant if you're inside for too long.

My favorite sheets are a pair of Egyptian cotton sheets that I purchased from a discount store (I think it was Ollies). I thought the whole thread count was a joke until I got these sheets. They feel like you're sleeping on heaven. lol They were under 20 bucks, so I went back to get more and of course they were all sold out. Never to be seen again. :( I too have an Laura Ashley comforter! hehe Have a wonderful Friday and a beautiful weekend!

    Hugs!

    ps...I love the changes!

  7. I use regular sheets in the winter but I have a heavier flannel sheet and an electric blanket we use for really cold days.

Yes, isn't the blonde Starbucks coffee great?

  8. I like flannel sheets for winter. I got a hand made quilt at my class reunion for being married to one person the longest! It is so comfy I keep it in the family room to snuggle with. Can't seem to get it to the bedroom!

  9. I just changed my bed yesterday. Its been cold and damp here so it was time to bring out the flannel sheets. I only have two sets and one is sort of Christmas. So since I usually put those on right after Tday......I decided to do that now and put my Christmas quilt on there too. They were so warm and cozy last nite tho. I should have done it earlier!

  10. I have to say that the loveliest sheets I ever slept on were hotel sheets when I was at a Disney resort. You can actually buy them online but they're pretty pricey. They were so soft and I loved them. Of course, I could have just taken them off the bed when I was there and stuffed them in my suit case but I think I would have gotten in trouble! :)
So glad you were able to get out and about! Hugs

  13. Just had to come back after reading your comment. I can't get over how much we have in common. I too get a free turkey every year from Shoprite. this year I'll use mine for Christmas as I'm not making it for the holiday, my nieces are. They want me to make my Baked Potato Souffle. Easy cook day for me. LOL!
My daughter's birthday is on the 26th of November and we used to celebrate it on Thanksgiving too. ;-} I'll miss her this holiday. Hugs
