Heading Into the Weekend

All cuddled up
I    saw the spinal surgeon yesterday.
 He took some xrays and I have to make an appointment for yet another MRI.
This time it will be one done sitting up as I can't lay down flat really. The xrays were difficult for me too.
We know I have spinal stenosis which has been coming on for a very long time and some problems with disks.
What will happen and whether or not I need spinal surgery I still don't know. Been a long road since I landed in the ER last year at this time.
I thought stenosis was for the elderly, but nope. It happens to people much younger too.
Many are coming to see flouride in water as not helping that at all!       I will be buying a special counter top filter that removes fluoride soon.

Meanwhile, Garfield is finding joy in sleeping in later this morning snuggled up against an afghan I crocheted a few years ago. It's large enough that it covers my double bed completely.

Skies seem somewhat blue today and the temperature this morning is now 30° F and spring is just about three weeks away on March 20th
  Spring birds are returning more and more too and bulbs are pushing up in the garden--the very messy overgrown garden !
On my front steps a pot of Pansies has a happy, hopeful, purple blossom on it.

I hope your weekend is lovely.

  1. Hi Annie! Happy Friday and March 1st! I'm so sorry to read about your spine. If they have to do surgery, I really hope that it helps you. We had blue skies yesterday but now the snow clouds are in. :( Been flurries today thanks to those lakes. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Hugs

  3. Hi Annie! I'm with you on the back problems... thinking it's for the elderly and not us young'uns! :D Hope you can be comfortable for the MRI. I wrote about disks/discs today, too. See it spelled both ways so not sure which is right or if it matters. Interesting about the fluoride...seems everything we once thought was good for us isn't and vice versa! Have a nice weekend! Spring is just around the corner! (((Hugz)))

  7. Hi Annie;

    I've been lazy about posting and visiting this past week. I pray all went well with the MRI. I dread having to have one if ever needed for like you, I can't lay down flat. It's good to know about sitting up. My DIL has spinal stenosis and she's only 51. Thank goodness here in the country our water supplies are from wells. That's a cute photo of Garfield. ;-}
    Have a blessed day ahead my friend. Hugs

  8. Hi Annie! I will check Pier One for glasses. I saw some pretty good ones at BB & Beyond for less than $1.00 each. I want them to be dishwasher safe but the ones at BBB were a little on the clunky side. I was told to check WalMart- not a place I frequent often. Target didn't have any good deals but saw some at HomeGoods. I need 30 so don't want to spend $5.00 each! Do you have a date for your MRI yet? (((Hugz)))

  9. I hope your MRI does not show progresso of your spinal stenosis, Annie. Are there alternative treatments to try before surgery?
    Garfield looks so cute sleepig on your afghan.

    I am looking forward to my first Spring in Colorado. I've heard spring here brings the wildest weather patterns!
