Friday is Here

Things are still iffy and up in the air with my little guy. Just waiting things out and hoping for the best. He is eating a bit now. I make him chicken mush and so far its staying down which is nice. Giving meds to cats is no fun. Takes a small army! But, hopefully they are helping ease his way.
4th of July coming up. How do you celebrate? I hope its a day of hot dogs and fireworks. I really enjoy that. Not sure what will be this year though.
I have lost 23lbs since the surgery as my appetite is gone. Well thin is in!
Weather here is hot and humid.. sun and big thunder storms alternately with lots of lightning with the storms.
Monday I see the orthopedic surgeon again for more xrays and to see if I need  out patient physical therapy. But I am walking tons each day and I do pretty well for being a month post op with spinal surgery.
Have a lovely weekend my friends.

  1. Hi Annie,
Garfield is in my thoughts always I am happy he is eating. What exactly is wrong with him that they gave you the meds for? I use to have a pill popper it works pretty good you put the pill at the end of it and quickly shove down their throat and release the pill it work pretty good. We are heating up here also. 90's today but no humidity. That is great you are walking. My Birthday is the 3rd so we will go out to dinner and my son is going to have a BBQ and pool party on the 4th. Starlight Bowl is in the hills where they live in Burbank so we can see the fireworks display from their front yard. Hope you have a great weekend. Hugs, Dru

  3. Hi Annie, glad to hear your Garfield is doing better. I have been busy with Vacation Bible school this week. 24 pounds is a lot to lose but you are also walking and that is good! We will be near 100 today.
We will be spending the 4th at my brothers. Not sure what is on the menu but hot dogs is probably on the menu. Hugs

  4. Exodus 15:26 ... "If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments ... for I am the LORD that healeth thee."

It sounds like you are doing your part, and the Lord is doing His part as promised. The Lord is good ... all the time. So glad you are doing so much better.

  5. Hi Annie! So sorry to hear about the problems with your little buddy Garfield. I hope the medication helps... do the doctors have any ideas about what it could be? Is he always indoors? Almost sounds like he could've gotten into something which would actually be good because that could just be temporary. I wouldn't mind if my back surgery would lead to a few pounds off... I have probably put on 10 lbs since this began because I can't exercise like I normally do. So happy to hear you are doing so well with your walking! We are hot here, too, but not that humid. From my trips to Hawaii, I know how uncomfortable humidity can be. (((Hugz)))

  7. Hi Annie, I am finally blogging. I changed over my blog and it felt good to do it. Hope your Garfield is ok. It is so hard to lose a furbaby. We have been hot here but it should cool down. We don't get much humidity. I have gained my weight back too, just from eating so much! But better than losing like I did when I was taking care of my dad. I lost muscle. I am glad you are walking! Take care. Hugs

  8. So glad you are home and walking, but sorry about Garfield. He is in Good Hands and wrapped in the prayers of those who love you.
My favorite way to celebrate July 4th is to be with my friend and her family. The BBQ is first, with hot dogs and burgers,salads-especially her signature Potato Salad(none better ! ),all the usual accompaniments. The next step is to load everyone into cars to drive to the little park nearby to watch the fireflies, passing boats and a panoramic view of the fireworks displays from at least 6 towns along the water. There is a warm sense of Family and tradition about the place that is very comforting.Sadly, that park is too badly damaged from the last hurricane to be available this year...with no timeline for its expensive restoration and opening...sigh...Love,Katy
