Swimming on the 4th

We spent the late afternoon and evening of the 4th swimming and
picnicking in the river in the Pine Barrens behind us.
This river widens  up ahead and flows into the bay behind our barrier islands.
It is a nice place with white sugary sand and cool swift flowing cedar water.
As with the bay it is within walking distance of my home so no travel is needed.

I was able to sit in a camp chair we placed in the water and  it was so nice.
The cedar water is crystal clear and clean.

Our life here is ocean, bay and river and so at 5,  Miri is already a very good swimmer.

So is her big sister the Famous Anonymous Kid seen here wading with me in the water.. .or at least the back of her head is seen!
Floating along

We ate hamburgers, hot dogs and macaroni salad until dark, then we went across to the bay to see fireworks and eat custard cones afterward.
What a great day we had.

  4. Hi Annie! Looks like a wonderful way to spend the 4th! I always love having a chair in the water and toes in the sand! See that Garfield is eating chicken. Hope you get some answers from tests. (((Hugz)))

  5. Hi, Annie Love the pics! Looks like you had a wonderful 4th! I love the water - even if I don't get in it. I love the ocean and although I'm mostly a wader now, I could sit and watch it for hours. Have a great week! Hugs
