Do You Read Poetry?

I  will be the gladdest thing under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
I will look at cliffs and clouds
With quiet eyes,
Watch the wind bow down the grass,
And the grass rise.

And when lights begin to show
Up from the town,
I will mark which must be mine,
And then start down!

,.. Afternoon on a Hill by Edna St.Vincent Millay

This poem and the photo make me want to wander around in the hills.
It is so wonderful to be outdoors in nature and yet be able to come back to a cozy little cottage.
Edna St Vincent Millay had a gift for bringing the outdoors alive and setting it as a centerpiece for feeling great sense of freedom.

  1. Good Morning Annie. Happy Mother's Day. Love the poem. There's nothing in Florida that looks like your picture of the rolling hills. I see the sheep grazing and the little village in the valley. So pretty!
