Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today:

Looking out my window..... it's cool  and sunny and  69° F. There is a lovely, soft breeze that ruffles the trees.

I am thinking... About the spackling to be finished, painting to be done,
moldings to go up in living room, office, dining room and kitchen.

I am thankful... for a lovely  family, a lovely summer and being alive to enjoy it all.

One of my favorite things is to sit on the porch by the pond and enjoy the little animals who love it too: the squirrels, chipmunks, birds of all kinds, frogs, fish, clams... they are all happy and enjoying the water.
Gus, short for Augustus Gaius Marcus Aurelius Frog (so named by the Famous Anonymous kid), is so used to me that he will sit by me outside and even come onto the first step of the back porch.
Full size Afghan I made for the Famous Anonymous Kid's bed

I am creating an autumn centerpiece for the table and beginning a new afghan for the little's bed.
It will be the same pattern as the one to the right which I made for her older sister, the Famous Anonymous.  It will be pink, however.

I am watching... Perry Mason on YouTube.

I am learning... about paint and decor

I am wearing...a navy blue 3/4 length tee shirt

I am reading...The Magnificent Ambersons by Booth Tarkington.

In the kitchen... nothing special going on. Just regular daily meals.
A view into the day today:

  1. Loved reading your SWD post Annie. The afghan is beautiful. I find it hard to crochet now as the hands aren't what they used to be. I do miss it and have an afghan I started years ago 3/4 finished and I doubt if I ever will be able to finish it. I think your header you have up now is one of my favorites. Such a talented lady my friend. Have a blessed day ahead.

  2. I remember seeing the photo of that afghan before and remembering I loved the colors. I can't wait to see the pink version. I think front porch sitting at your home would be very relaxing. Have a great weekend.

  3. 69 degrees sounds wonderful. Sounds like you have some beautiful scenery around you. I love the afghan. It looks so soft.
