Halloween coming. The word Halloween means hallowed evening or the night before what is called All Saints Day which was a day to honor martyrs who died for their faith.
Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
We have come to the final week in the lovely month of October. Halloween is days away and November is about to burst onto the scene.
I thought it might be nice for you to have another chance to tell a bit about yourself.
1 Are you named for anyone? Is there a story behind your name? My mother was going to name me Avigail which my father did not want. So he went to the registrar to name me first and used the name of his grand mother.
2. Where were you born ? What town and at home or hospital? I was born in Rahway, New Jersey in the hospital there. My mother was an obstetrics registered nurse there as well.
3. What were your parents like? What kind of home or apartment did you live in? My parents were pretty nice people. My mother was an RN, my father was a chemist who later owned a store. My mother had deep dark auburn hair and green eyes. My father's hair was jet black and his eyes were brown.
We lived with grandparents for the first half of my life and I shared a bedroom with my maternal grandmother until I was 15. I loved it by the way. We were buddies. We got a house that was a small Victorian complete with little passages, butler's pantry, French doors and odd little corners. My kids loved that house because of all the nooks and crannies, secret doors, wonderful attic and old gas light fixtures on the walls, linoleum 'rugs' in the bedrooms from the 1800s.4. Do you have a nickname? How did it come about? My best, longest friend calls me 'Hanala' . In high school a good friend called me Ang and Angie.
Hanala. 🩵 What does that mean?
ReplyDeleteIts just a diminutive for Hannah.. which is Hebrew for Ann.. all 3 mean grace.
DeleteI was named for a dear friend of my mother. As the first surviving child , this shortened version was a nod to her mother-in-law , as well (a wise move) . Generally , isn't a diminutive of a person's name an endearment ? Hoping all are safe and well !
ReplyDeleteI was named after my great grandmother & my grandmother.
ReplyDeleteI am just getting back into the groove here in blogland. Had my vacation stories to tell, so I missed this Tuesday 4. I've told before that I was named for Anne of Green Gables, "Pamela Anne", with an "e". I'm not sure where the Pamela came from. My mother said she wanted to name me Vivian, but found out it was one of my father's old girlfriend's name, so it was changed to Pamela. Good thing, as my mother in law was named Vivian! LOL. I loved hearing about the old house you lived in with all the nooks and crannies, etc. I would LOVE a house like that! I enjoyed your post. I hope to get back to "normal" next week, whatever that is! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI did a post, here is the link https://heavygators.blogspot.com/2024/10/tuesday-4.html
ReplyDeleteYour grandparents house sounds neat! My great grandparents had a house that all us cousins liked.
