Our Town

Hello!  This is Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 where we ask just 4 questions each week in an effort to get you blogging, thinking and learning about others.

Maybe we can discuss the town  you live in.  It might be nice to find out more about where you live and why you live there. Sometimes we just fall into a place and other times we \choose.
Here's a chance to sing the praises of your town or uncover it's faults.. have at it!

1. What are the good points to living in your town? Could you interest us in moving there?
If you like the seashore, nice safe beaches, lakes, creeks for canoeing, swimming and fishing. This is the place for you.  Lovely boardwalks with amusements, rides, good food... always fresh clean air, ocean breezes, moderate weather are all found here.

2.  Are the things you need convenient to your home? (shopping, library, schools, entertainment?)
All these things are right in town and very nice.  You would also be equidistant to Philadelphia and New York City and only a hop, skip and jump to Washington DC, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.
3.  Did you choose your town or did you just end up there?  I grew up close to the water but this is even closer and was my dream from the time I was a very little girl.  I grew up near seaports in north Jersey but now I am by the beaches.  I dreamed it then fell into my dream.
4.   Is your town known for any special foods, activities, places or people?
We have nice restaurants that are wonderful and of course New Jersey is known for it's Italian food on every corner, great pizza etc.  We have fresh fish markets and farm stands with fresh produce.  In summer we have weekly fireworks and concerts.
Activities are surfing, sailing, swimming.  We have a 6 flags with a safari park not too distant as well.

  3. Your town is the only town in NJ that I ever heard about that sounded like a place I would enjoy living! Before "meeting you" here in Blogland, I never knew NJ had such a lovely coastal area. It sounds lovely and idyllic. I am happy that you are there and that you enjoy it so much!

  5. What a beautifully written post! I really enjoyed how you captured the charm and personality of your town—it felt warm, nostalgic, and so relatable, much like the cozy comfort of a cottage. Your descriptions made it easy to picture everything so vividly. Thanks for sharing such a lovely piece!

  10. Your library reminded me of our library. I think I could easily live in your town, I grew up near the sea and missed the sound of the waves after I moved away.
