Wednesday Haiku #11

These Haiku by the great Zen Haiku poet Matsuo Basho (1644-94)are accompanied by snippets from my paintings. I paint what I see around me and also from photographs.
Haiku is good for the soul.
I hope you enjoy these.

secion of a painting by me

Lightening -
Heron's cry
Stabs the darkness
... Basho

"Moutains Lakes"

Seek on high bare trails
Mountain-top jewels

Seas are wild tonight . . .
stretching over
Sado Island
Silent clouds of stars
... Basho

This painting was inspired by a photograph

The sea darkening . . .
oh voices of the
wild ducks
Crying, whirling, white

If you missed my post yesterday, consider watching it won't you? It is short and you will enjoy it.

  1. Breathtakingly beautiful, smiles. Hope you have a lovely day, Annie.

  2. night surf is beautiful! As is the sunset. I dabble in painting but I'm not a professional by any means. You capture the water and light very well.

  3. Your paintings are beautiful, you are very talented.

  4. Beautiful and provoking images here.
Hello Annie, another month flew by, and this Friday is another Weekend Journal Page where you can post one of your art projects -finished or not - linking by putting the permalink in your comment of the post of Friday noon.
    Hope to see you there!

  5. I am always amazed at your magnificent paintings....you are a true artist in every sense of the word. It is an honor to be your "friend" here...thank you.

  6. Gorgeous! That last one is absolutely stunning! What talent you have. It must be a real high for you as you work on these and see the completed painting.

  7. Annie, your paintings are just beautiful. I look at them and find myself becoming a part of them. It is obvious that art is a love that is deep-rooted in your heart and soul.

  8. I want to thank everyone for the kind words.

I love hearing your thoughts and your visits mean a lot to me.
