Dec. 7m 1941, a day that will live in infamy. The attack on Pearl Harbor.
Saturday 9: Hurt So Bad (1980)
Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it here.
1) Do you have any aches or pains this morning?
Sometimes but not upon waking up.
2) In this song, Linda Ronstadt complains that her ex doesn't get what she's going through. Have you recently felt misunderstood?
Yes, often.
3) Now let's put a positive spin on it: Is there someone in your life who gets you completely?
No. I am really astounded by how even my closet friends and family don't 'get' me much at all and listening to them talk about my likes, dislikes is so way off its not funny!
4) Linda recorded a best-selling album in Spanish, and has also performed in French, German and Italian. How many languages do you speak?
Only fluent in English but I can read Hebrew and French. I know some Aramaic or rather can read it somewhat and I know a lot of things in Yiddish. Some will get it if I say I am pretty fluent in Yeshivish. Oh, living in NJ I also know a lot of Italian slang and terms. If you live in NJ you become Italian by osmosis.
5) Linda once dated George Lucas of Star Wars fame. Who is your favorite Star Wars character?
No favorite. I am not really a Star Wars fan. I liked Star Trek more.
6) Steve Martin has spoken affectionately about Linda and their romance in the 1970s. Are you a Steve Martin fan?
Yes he is pretty funny.
7) Linda worked consistently and successfully with record producer Peter Asher throughout the 70s and 80s. Tell us about someone you enjoyed working beside.
A girl I worked with for a while named Lisa. We had a lot of fun with our fake accents. It kept the other employees laughing,
8) In 1980, when this song was popular, People magazine named author Stephen King one of the year's most intriguing people. Have you read any of his books or short stories?
No. I don't like his books or the movies spawned from them. I have seen the Langoliers a few times.
9) Random question: Looking back on last week, would you describe it as exciting or boring?
It was exciting the last few weeks due to birthdays and get togethers.
I used to enjoy Linda Rondstadt's music. Is she still alive? I haven't heard anything about her in years, but I really don't pay that much attention to popular music, etc. I enjoyed reading your answers. #3, I get it...I think we bloggers are an enigma to our local friends and family. It's kind of like what Jesus said that a "prophet has no honor in his own country"...LOL. Not that we are prophets, but we write about our personal thoughts and feelings and dreams, etc., and our immediate family/friends most likely don't read our blogs (that I know of), and they only see what is on the "outside". If they'd take the time to read our stuff, they might know us a lot better! I am not a Stephen King fan either, although he lives in an area of Maine that is quite close to where we once lived. Our son used to work in a little restaurant where he would come occasionally to eat. So apparently he is a real human being who has to eat food, even though he seems very weird by his writing. LOL. Maybe that's how people view us bloggers too. LOL. Have a lovely day my friend. I enjoyed your post.
ReplyDeleteWell, I certainly hope you don't think that of me (#3)--I get you, and understand you, smiles. I like Stephen King books, not him though--he is something of a twisted soul--and I don't agree with his politics. Ok, I said it. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful day my friend.
I understand #3. My family doesn't get me, either. They are always assuming I think or feel a particular way and they are usually wrong. It gets old.
ReplyDeleteI like the Langoliers. I'm not a big fan of Stephen King either. I do like to listen to Linda Ronstadt's music.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you have enjoyed time with family these past few weeks. That is always nice. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

Since I don't like horror books/movies, I've never read anything by Stephen King. I enjoyed all your answers, Annie. God bless!
ReplyDeleteGet togethers are great! I'm glad you've had an exciting few weeks.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about Aramaic …I understand a few words and phrases of that language too, along with some Hebrew and Yiddish words and phrases
