Monday is For the Birds......

I made this little guy today but it is only half finished. He needs more body and cleaning up. I made it a png simply to display it here since they show up better than a gif or a jpg.

He will get worked on and I am not sure what I will do with him.

But his model was sitting by the window in the window box for a while and so I thought I would do his little portrait.

My older brother trained to be a commercial artist when he was younger but he hated to draw, so he never went into the career.

He is older than me so when I was growing up I was fascinated by his ability to draw things. I had to beg him to make me Mickey Mouse though. I remember sitting there with my eyes wide open wondering how in the world he could make Mickey come alive on paper like that, the same Mickey from the cartoons!! Well I love to draw, but I can't do Mickey for love or money. Maybe if I practiced I could. My flowers are dorky too but I think the bird is not too bad. I will redo the flowers or replace them with berries maybe until I learn to do a better flower.

As a kid I never tried to draw Mickey because I didn't believe I could do it. I liked being outside more than inside.

What do you like to do? Do you have hobbies ?

  1. I love cars, though I hate working on them. I go to museums and shows to try to see rare and interesting automobiles. I actually just bought a convertible 2 seat roadster which is a modern car but, I love it just the same. :-)

  3. Cool. Did you draw it yourself? My wife is an excellent artist, she just does not use it nowadays. I had a really good friend, Chad Collier, in high school who was just phenomenal. He loved to draw comic heroes and liked comics like myself. He drew some for me, Wonderman, Iron Man, Sunspot, and Colossus, LOL. I would love to be able to draw like that, but I mess up drawing stick figures. It is a really beautiful drawing.
