rainy today

We have had days and days of super duper rain storms. Everything is greener than green. Some flowers are thriving, others not doing so well. Farmer's almanac says that we might have a dry July and August so maybe its nice that heaven is allowing us to store up some water now.

In other news the latest song that young girls are in love with comes from Miley Cyrus and it's called, "It's the Climb".
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The anonymous kid and her friend sang it for me with their sweet little voices. It was so dear. They know every word, every note just right. It's nice that they like this song too. The lyrics are really nice.
I love to see kids excited and in love with things.

It's very late.. or early in the morning. Mr Frog is croaking in the small pond.
And a quiet cool breeze is ruffling the leaves. Just lovely.
I think frogs love the rain and cooler weather.
You know, a couple of years ago I went out to the small pond to feed the fish and saw hundreds and hundreds of tadpole swimming around.
I expected to see tiny frogs all over for a while but, they grew at different speeds and hopped off. I only ever saw a few of them really. So cute!
Could be Mr. Egret made a visit too, but I hope not. It's kind of nice to think of hundreds of frogs hopping into the wet lands for new homes.

  1. I sometimes here some croaking in the night but I don't think they are frogs-some sort of toad.

  2. Rain? You had rain?? *sigh* not us...we still are suffering with the heat...today we have a chance...a slight chance of rain. Here is a little insight of how Mah Jong came into our lives...my friends and I have been playing tennis for 38 years and on Tuesdays we would play for fun. Hurricane Katrina come and our lives changed. Our neighborhood tennis/swim club was heavily damaged from tornados. It took 20 months before we could get back on our courts. We played at different playgrounds in the beginning then when summer came there was no shade there for us and the children had tennis at the playground. Carole said: "instead of playing tennis this summer would you like to learn how to play Mah Jong? She taught us once week...it's hard in the beginning, but once you "get it" it's really easy. Mah Jong is a game of luck...we play once a week and play for money....like a quarter or sometimes 50 cents. We play the American version. It lots of fun...if you ever get the chance to learn....do it! I bought our Mah Jong sets on ebay. Have a good day and send me some rain!!

  3. Hi Annie! That's a sweet song. I was laughing with Jeff the other day about song lyrics- we were listening to Kelly Clarkson singing, "My Life Would Suck Without You" and we were saying, "They just don't write them like the used to!" LOL! That's why I like a lot of the country music singers now- they remind me of the types of songs we listened to in the late 60's and early 70's- songs with meaningful lyrics.

I remember collecting tadpoles as a kid and watching them evolve into frogs. that was fun! (((Hugz)))

  4. Hi Annie!
Tadpoles are fun! How nice to have a pond. Oh we have Egrets here, they are so fun to watch.

That is a very sweet song, I like the lyrics.

    Have a happy Wednesday!

  5. Hi Annie :)

We found the first frog last night on our stoop. I moved him under the Hostas so he wouldn't wander out into the street. I think they're really cute too :)

Thank you for all the sweet comments, especially as of late. I don't know why it's happening, but I hope it's over now.

    xoxo,
    rue

  6. Hi Annie,
we have loads of froggies here, and most of them are small to medium, some are teeny tiny and they hop all over the place. sometimes when i walk ben at night i have to make sure i don't step on one. we hear them singing in the pond out back. there is one that is a bull frog and wow can he ever let out the sounds. he must be huge. i love them. ben doesn't bother them either, cause i taught him well *smiles*
we have tree frogs that get on the house sometimes, one time one jumped on me and i screamed!
p.s. i can't stand, can't stand, can't stand Miley (sorry, forgive me) glad she's putting off some nice lyrics for the girls though, at least that's being a good role model for them.
    hugggs ♥
