Monday, a bit of Everything

Photo is one of the several rivers around here that empty into the bay. The open bay is just to the right of the frame.

I found this bit of advice a while ago. Thought it might give you a chuckle:

If your children don't listen to you, hire someone else to talk to them.

Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold the veggies while you chop away
On the other hand..... you should also have five fingers.

Men, Avoid arguments with females about lifting the toilet seat - use the sink .

If you think you are right check the decibel level of your voice, remember that the loudest person is always the most right!

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

For high blood pressure sufferers - simply prick your finger and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in you veins, (remember to use a timer).

A mouse trap placed on top of your alarm clock will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and duct tape, If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Remember - everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem .

And finally a thought for the day...Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
(Okay, this last one is mean.  )

Today is a typical November day, gray , wet. Rain drops hit the window, flatten out and slide down to the sill below.  "It's No-vem-ber, it's No-vem-ber"  they seem to be saying as they patter on the air conditioner in the living room.
A gray damp day is perfect for a doing a meme.
This meme is to name a few movies about victories and winning.
I chose the following:

All the Right Moves  is a 1983 movie starring Tom Cruise, it's about a high school football star who hopes that winning will get him that scholarship that will get him out of Steel mill town Ampipe Pennsylvania.

Apollo 13 They might not have landed on the moon but they were winners in bravery and smart moves that help them return to earth safely. A very inspiring movie.

Now Voyager Bette Davis, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains 1942.
It's the story of  the abused spinster daughter of a wealthy Boston family finds love unexpectedly after a nervous breakdown.
I think you can see Now Voyager on Youtube. If you can, take an hour to see it. You won't be sorry.

  1. Hi Annie! Funny post! Have you ever seen "The Duct Tape Guys" on TV or their calendars? One of them is Jeff's cousin who lives in Wisconsin. His name is Tim.

Ryan was happy with his blanket when it came out of the dryer... it was nice and warm and coxy. Poor little guy! Enjoy the holiday week ahead! (((Hugz)))

  5. Hi Annie! I agree completely with you on DWTS! I think Donny will win (you may aleady know the results but it's only 7 here) because he has a big fan base. Just like Gilles didn't win last time even tho he was the best dancer... Kelly was adorable but you can see she was just thrilled to have made it as far as she did. She'd be shocked if she won!
