Salsa Puppy

Ok here is update for Monday: The gathering went so well. Everyone ate til they were unable to move. We laughed and ate and ate and laughed and it was a very lovely evening even if it was a bit late.
We lit my menorah, the big silver one and the little childrens one but without the blessings usually said because the holiday is over. The famous anonymous kid did the honors on the big one with the olive oil lights and did them perfectly. What she had deemed a disaster turned out okay after all.

Today I  went to Toni's   and stole her meme again. She might have to put a lock on them from now on.
Here it is with my answers.

1. What do you add to your coffee?    In the morning I add 5 drops of hot sauce to the very large cup I make and some cinnamon, non dairy creamer and no sugar. Surprisingly this tastes very nice and helps to keep blood sugar normal and cholesterol down, though my cholesterol is very low.

2. What are you reading now?     Mesillat Yesharim(Path of the Just) for the 6th time and "Jane Austen's Little Advice Book".

3. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments? Usually, yes.

4. What do you think of hot dogs? They are fine. I like Aaron's Kosher hot dogs. They are delicious and Glatt kosher. Glatt means that they examine the animal thoroughly to be sure no organs were sick when the animal died and that no byproducts enter into the meat either. You get pure, healthy beef that way.

5. Favorite Christmas Song? Well I do not celebrate Christmas but if I did, I think it would be "Sleigh Ride" by one of my favorite composers, Leroy Anderson. He also wrote songs like The Typewriter, Blue Tango, The Waltzing Cat, etc..
The Boston Pops often plays Sleigh Ride and Anderson was associated with them for a long while.
My favorite Chanukah song is Maoz Tzur (Rock of Ages) with the Sephardic melody.

6. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Tea or Coffee with cream no sugar.

7. Can you do push ups?      No. I never could do them well.

8. What was the name of your first boyfriend?   A young man named David. we ended up getting married and then unmarried sadly.

9. What’s your favorite piece of jewelery?  Things my daughter gave to me. A Mommy necklace and a small  gold and diamond claddagh ring.

10. What’s one trait that you hate about yourself?   Oh my, there are so many LOL! Where do I start? I am a stickler for making sure no one puts anything wet or hot on my dining table to mar the top. I picked that up from my mothers whose table was mahogany. Mine is a Victorian dark oak but I am very careful in taking good care of  the surface. I suppose I might drive people crazy with it. Also my baby grand piano.. if someone puts a drink on it, I go bananas and run over to remove it with dire threats of doom to them if they ever do that again. No way I could afford to replace it if it was ruined.

11. Name 3 beverages you regularly drink?  Coca Cola , Iced Tea, Water

12. How do you bring in the New Year?  I don't! It just happens all by itself !  Amazing, I know.

From yesterday:

I will post about our family get together later but first, Just a giggle:
Animals are loyal, love you when no one else will, keep you company and offer protection. Lately they also provide entertainment!

OLE!!

  1. Hi Annie! We have a lot in common...I get so nervous about doctor appointments, I'm a stickler about drink glasses on my wooden table tops, and I have very weak arm muscles and have never been able to do a pushup...not even one, lol! Glad to hear your gathering went well! Love the doggy dancing :)
    Blessings,
    Tracey

  2. From one "thief" to another, I liked your answers better than mine. LOL! I especially got a chuckle out of #12. But I actually laughed so hard until I cried looking at the video. You have made my otherwise dreary day bright my friend. Have a lovely evening. Hugs

  4. Hi Annie,
I had to read that line twice about the hot sauce in your coffee I don't like hot sauce on my food lol I have very low cholesterol and sodium also. I have never heard of that before. You learn something new everyday. Happy to hear your celebration was good and you seem to be on the mend. Have a wonderful week ahead. Oh my favorite Christmas song of course is Mel Torme's A Christmas Song. It always fascinated me as a kid he was Jewish and wrote a Christmas Song :)
    Hugs!

  5. Awww the little salsa dog is just so cute. I would love to have him or her.
I love the cheezeburger cats too, they are too funny and yes it's all about the expression on their fuzzy faces.
Well, I for one don't like anyone placing anything that could leave a mark on my furniture either. I always ask myself why would anyone do something like that? I mean where's there manners? I would never do anything like that at their house.
Talk to you soon, stay warm

  6. Memes are interesting. I like learning new things about people. Hot sauce in coffee-that's a new one to me. I don't drink coffee anyway. I have heard about chili powder in hot chocolate but never tried it. I had a beautiful wooden antique desk ruined by a thoughtless person and his glass of iced drink. I've never gotten that circle out.

  7. Hi Annie, my sister's birthday is on the first. I will have to tell my hubby about the hot salsa. Does it have to be any special kind? I like your menorah. My cousins sets her up also. She is not Jewish, but she likes to remember that God always gives us light because He is the light. Do you make all the traditional food? I am getting hungry now. :) Have a great week! Hugs

  8. Hi Annie! Glad your gathering went well... we've had many delayed family gatherings, too, and it's the people that are important not the date. Our annual family Christmas party is this Sunday and it looks like that will be cancelled for the 1st time in over 30 years since Jeff is sick and I'm injured with a cracked rib. Ouch!

I've never heard of hot sauce in coffee but I do love hot sauce and spicy foods. I'm a stickler for people putting wet things on my furniture, too, and the worse thing is when someone tries to write on paper on my table- that is a big no-no! I'm always grabbing a magazine to put under their paper. Might as well be carving a big heart with so and so loves so and so on it! Oy!
