AT THE SHORE:
Wind Direction: SE
Condition: Knee high
Sea State: Very smooth
Ocean Temp: 78 F
Wave Height: 3 ft
UV Index: 10
It's not so very hot here today. Perhaps inland it is. We are usually some 10 degrees cooler along the shore. It is cooler here today.
To my eastern side is the bay/ocean and on the other side of me to the west is this, the pine woods or pine barrens. Cedar water creeks flow through them and provide homes for bobcats, possums, raccoons, timber rattlers, bears and other assorted critters.
The bogs are home to our famous cranberry farms. Ocean Spray harvests here.
And in summer we have tons of wild blueberries that are called Huckleberries.
The lilies in the lakes and ponds and slower moving streams are sweet smelling.
New Jersey has a reputation it does not deserve. People see the industrial corridor by the airport and think that is what the state is. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are this
and this:
The northern most part of the state is beautiful as well with mountains and hills and lakes .
Farm lands and open sky.......
We are lovely in the Autumn.
.
What a great post and awesome photos (that must be seen big)! ♥ Hubby and I have never been to New Jersey, we have only "driven by" it on our way from Maryland to Cape Cod. Too bad, we should have stopped and enjoy it. Have a lovely evening! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Annie;
ReplyDeleteNew Jersey is beautiful. So many lovely spots. I've been to many of them. I did learn something new reading your wonderful post regarding the bogs and Ocean Spray.
It's the same here in New York. When others think of it, they think of The city and never realize it's just a small part of a beautiful state.
Have a lovely day ahead my friend. ;-}
These pictures have convinced me! Thanks for these lovely scenes.
ReplyDeleteI tell people this all the time when they ask where Im from. I hate the reputation it has. I tell them its called the Garden state for a reason and if it was so bad would some of the richest people in the world live there? But they get off at the airport and lets face it......thats the armpit of NJ lol but thats not all it is.
