Kids on the street outside talking about ' music from the old days'.
One boy told the others that "my grandpa liked a group called the 'Rat Pack'.
"I never heard o'them" replied another kid.
"Nah, me neither. It was like a few guys that like sung and stuff.
One of them was real famous called Sammy David Jupiter."
So here is a meme for you. I hope you will give it a try.
1. Like anyone from the Rat Pack?
I think the voices of Sinatra, Martin and Davis are beautiful. Joey Bishop was funny.
Peter Lawford was a decent actor and I do like old black and white films!
2. Do you think music was better 'back then'?
Yes. I am not impressed with the belting of today's music. I like more subtle expression and real vocal talent. I am not crazy about auto tune singers.
3. Does the life style of some musicians and performers turn you off to their music?
Yes, it really can. Some performers are just blah to me because I can't separate the two.
Dirty lyrics/comedy/scripts cancel out any talent as far as I am concerned.
4. Have you been to any concerts?
Yes, in many different forms from religious singers to famous orchestras and opera , to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
And speaking of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.....
I want these people for neighbors!!!
Hi Annie, I liked how the little boy said SDJ name. Reminds me of the time when my daughter would sing a song at church and say boring instead of glory, to the king of kings! Hi Annie, I'm a person who was around in the "good old days" and even got to see Frank Sinatra as a youngster with my aunts at the RKO theater in NYC and again when I was pregnant with my twins (1965) at the Meadowgreens. As for the Rat Pack I only enjoyed watching Frank, Dean & Sammy who was so talented. Joey was a good comic but Peter Lawford was really not a favorite.

Hi Annie! I really got a big chuckle out of "Sammy David Jupiter" I'm not familiar with Peter Lawford or Joey Biship. At least I don't think I am? But I'm very familiar with SDJ, Martin and Sinatra. I love their music. I will often type in Frank Sinatra in Pandora and listen to the old jazz style music. I love music so much though. I even like some modern music but not pop music. When it comes to modern music, I'm an Indie rock kind of girl. :) I've been to quite a few concerts, Steely Dan was the last concert that I went to. I was supposed to go to see The Presets in Oct but I can't make it. :( I enjoyed your meme and reading your answers. Hope you're having a wonderful week so far. Happy October! Hugs!
