Taking Kathleen Home

Week? What week .. it flew by so fast I missed it!  So, I better grab this weekend and hold on fast.
But I will not be missing Saturday 9.... so here we go.

"Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!"

I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen (1975)

Chosen because St. Patrick's Day is Tuesday.

Unfamiliar with this week's song? Hear it below:

1) This week's song is widely considered a traditional Irish ballad. Are you of Irish descent?
 It's in there, yes.

2) It's a song from a groom to his homesick bride. Who did you most recently serenade? (Yes, "Happy Birthday" counts.)

Myself, since I sing to myself every day.

3) Kathleen considers "home" her mother's cottage. How about you? Is "home" where you live now, or is it where you grew up?
Where I grew up.
4) St. Patrick is credited with driving snakes out of Ireland, and to this day the Irish report there are no snakes on their land. Ophiophobia is the fear of snakes. Do you suffer from ophiophobia?
No. Not phobic about it.
Yes,  St. Patrick did drive snakes out of Ireland.. the snakes were the  heathens.
5) Irish Americans held the first St. Patrick's Day parade on our shores in New York City in 1766. Does your town host a St. Patrick's Day parade?
There is a St Patrick's Day flag raising and party in town , yes.

6) Leprechauns are a symbol of St. Patrick's Day. These small Irish fairies are said to live in the forest, guarding their gold. Do you more often wear silver or gold?
Leprechauns are real. Small bodies have been found in Ireland throughout the centures being less than 3 ft tall.
I wear more gold.

7) The signature color of St. Patrick's Day is green. Will you wear green next Tuesday?
I wear green everyday as my eyes are green.

8) This week's featured artist, Elvis, was the idol of millions. But not the Songfellows. In the early 1950s, a young Elvis auditioned for this gospel group and they refused him. Just as well, as the King of Rock 'n Roll did rather well for himself as a solo. Like Elvis, did you ever interview for a job that you didn't get?
Yes. At 36 I was told I was too old and the job went to a kid fresh out of high school so they could pay her less. May the sewers of Rangoon back up into their breakfast from now until evermore.
9) Random question: Do you believe women are more emotional than men?

 Yes, of course they are.

Tomorrow is Sunday Stealing and later that night Tuesday 4 meme questions go up on the other blog.

Thanks for visiting, Come again.

  1. I didn't think of that, but I guess I technically serenade myself every day, too.

  2. I wear green to bring out my eyes, too! I've noticed, too, that brown or blue mascara helps, too. My green eyes are my favorite feature.

  4. I would love to see a "leprechaun". Would love to find their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow too! LOL. I love to sing...will be singing happy birthday to our youngest son later today, although his birthday is not until Wednesday, but we are going to celebrate today. I will definitely wear green on Tuesday. Don't like to get pinched. I am part "Scotch-Irish", on my mother's side, and possibly on my father's side too, since his mother was adopted and we really don't know her heritage. Have a wonderful weekend.

  9. I didn't even think about myself on the serenade question. That should be my answer too. I sing all of the time in the car. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend!
