Monday Evening

Happy Monday evening.   I am preparing my Tuesday 4 post for tomorrow and thought I would get myself used to posting more often once again.   I dislike not blogging more, I really do.
Blogland becomes a neighborhood and we do take a liking to one another, don't we?
It's been very cold here in Southern New Jersey and yes, we are a very different state than our northern neighbors. Even our climate is different as we are closer to coastal Maryland and Virginia.
Cardinals stay all year long as do  Doves, Juncos, Chickadees and Sparrows.  They don't mind the flurries that come once in a great while or even the onslaughts that come up from the south every now and again.   They just seem to settle in just fine.

Front yard Cardinal inspecting the feeder.

Seagulls stay all year as well.  Though they huddle up together and don't fly as much on the coldest days.

Back to work on Tuesday 4... see you there.

  1. It is bitter cold and snowing wildly out there right now. I actually put on a pair of long johns under my pj's. Looking forward to the Tuesday 4. smiles

  2. Always good to hear from you, any time!! I know it is cold up there, because it is cold down here too! It really felt like winter here this morning, at 26 degrees! And the Cardinals and chickadees and other little birds have been busy at my bird feeder too. I'm glad we can help them stay warm and well fed. Have a good night!!

  3. Yeah, post more often if you can. It's nice to keep up with each other and your area is so pretty.
Our Cardinals are year round too, as are one of my personal favorites, Carolina Wrens. They are so cute. As we approach March, there will be Summer Tanagers, Great-crested Flycatchers, Ruby Hummingbirds, Blue Birds, Purple Martins, and on and on that stop by our property to nest. I think I'm looking forward to Spring this year. Cold weather is starting to be a bit of a trial on these old bones.
    Blessings. xx

  4. Hello !
Thank you for another Bright Spot , so welcome on your blog !
The contrast of the birds' bright plumage against winter's resting brown is lovely !
The tentative sprouts on autumn-planted bulbs , that peeped out during the warm spells , have gone to sleep again . Their spring beauty is much anticipated !
    Have a marvelous day !
