Cowboys

Happy Tuesday friends! I think everyday should be happy and can be if you are always in a thankful attitude.  Sometimes it is not easy but, it is certainly worth a try.
As I write this late Sunday night, I see we might bet a bit of snow on Monday night.  We don't get much snow here except every so many years when we get a huge dump load of it.
South Jersey is surrounded by water and that gives , especially we here right on the coast a different climate.

Note: its Monday evening and the storm is coming.  Its very powerful but we will see if it dumps any snow or just rain.

It's time once again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.  Let's talk about cowboys this week.

1.  Do you like western style chuck wagon cooking?  Stews, chilis, beef steaks, BBQ  etc.?

I do and I found a cooking site on YouTube for Kent Rollins  who  is a cowboy cook.  I like his recipes and lessons a lot.   Maybe you will as well, so give it a try.

2.  Do you make a good chili or do you know someone whose chili is the best ever? Beans, meat or both?

I have 3 recipes for chili that I love.  I like both meat and beans in my chili. I want it all baby!!

3.  Who is your favorite cowboy movie star?

There are so many great TV and movie cowboys.     Of course there were John Wayne and  Randolph Scott.  I really enjoyed Robert Duvall in Lonesome Dove and  Open Range.  Clint Walker was a great cowboy. as is Kevin Costner.  I think Duvall is my favorite actor over all.

4.  Do you have a favorite western TV show or movie?

I did love Lonesome Dove.    I've enjoyed Maverick, Bonanza, Have Gun Will Travel, Cheyenne,  Tales of the Texas Rangers, The Big Country, The Virginian.  I do like Westerns a lot.

  1. I like meat and beans both in my chili, too. So many great cowboys...I'm tied on Sam Elliot and Roy Rogers.

  2. Great answers! Chili is always good especially with the cold weather. We love all the Westerns and get quite a few on TV but own lots of DVDs too. Fun blog hop, thank you. Have a wonderful new week.

  3. Oh yes Lonesome Dove and I actually met the Larry McMurty. He was at a book signing and I got a book for my dad. You should share one of your chili recipes.
