Teen Romances

Very quickly the week is hastening on. and here we are at Tuesday already.
I enjoyed comic books as a kid.  I never saw these though. which were gone by the time I was around.  I loved Archie Comics, Lil Audrey, Casper, Richie Rich

Howdy... welcome to Tuesday 4 which was hosted originally by Toni Taddeo  and which we keep going in her memory.

Teen-Age Romances was a comic that ran from 1949 to 1955. It cost 10¢ a copy.

Used magazines now can be bought by collectors from hundreds of dollars to almost $2000. for a copy.

1. Did you have a teen-age romance?  If not, did you dream of one?   Yes. I did have  a teen romance  and it was very serious.  In my yearbook he talked of how we would spend our lives together.   It was not to be and I am glad now that it wasn't!

2. What made it romantic? Or if it wasn't why not?    I think things are romantic when people think of one another's happiness.

3.  What were dates like when you were younger? What did people do.. where did they go?  Dates were movies, bowling, skating, football, basketball games, taking walks, going to the weekly dances on Saturday nights at the school.  Of course being on the beach was always a big deal for us.

4,  What kind of things, places etc. do you find romantic?   The beach and boardwalk especially at night, holding hands and walking through Central Park.  Hiking in the forest and stopping by waterfalls.  NJ has quite a lot of them.

  1. You were blessed to enjoy the natural beauty of NJ while dating. It made me think of a park we would go to while dating.

  2. It is so romantic when we focus on another's happiness. I had some crushes in high school, but not any romance. Have a blessed day, Annie!

  4. I'm sorry I didn't make it do this week's meme. Just didn't quite fit in with my activities around here. But I had teenage romances, and I am VERY thankful that God protected me from ending up with any of them! God knew best, and I am very thankful that hubby and I will celebrate 56 years of marriage in August of this year! We never thought we'd be this old! LOL. Our little town didn't offer much in the way of good places for dates. Mostly movies and school dances. You grew up in a great place for outdoor activities. It was just too hot here! LOL.
