Monday, September 22 is the Autumnal Equinox, the first day of the Autumn season.
Autumn is the name of the season and fall is the term for the time of Autumn when leaves begin to fall from the trees. Let's discuss it.....
1. Are there pumpkins or chrysanthemums on your porch or are you planning on putting some out? No, not yet but I do like to put out some chysanthemums and some orange and purple fairy lights for autumn.
2. Are stores around you showing Autumn clothing and decor now? Here in New Jersey, leaves on some trees are changing slowly and temperatures are way down . What is it like in your neck of the woods? Since I wrote this... the description in this question is what it's like here in New Jersey. In the middle of the night (early Monday) it's 53 °F.
3. Do you have plans for Thanksgiving yet? Probably going out.with family. Coming home to watch our traditional movie list and have pie.
4 . If we can arrange an autumn trip or get away for you, where will you choose to go and why? I would enjoy a trip to Plimouth (the old spelling) Massachusetts home of the first settlers. A ride up through the mountains would be very nice too.
This would definitely be the season to visit New England, Annie. The fall colors there are always splendid.
ReplyDeleteI would love visiting NEW ENGLAND in the fall and the East Coast see ya tomorrow
ReplyDeleteWhat a dear picture...the "tucked-in" puppy reminds me of my kitty , who naps with me...always under the covers ! Maybe the steaming cup being held contains spiced apple cider ?
ReplyDeleteIt's about 6 p.m. here on Monday and the temperature is about 64 degrees F. It's been noticeably cooler during the days and chilly now at night. Sunset arrives just after 7 p.m. or so. I think your fairy lights will give a lot of hygge to your home which is always a nice thing. Enjoy your time away.
ReplyDeleteIt was 73 here this morning already, and will reach 89 this afternoon. We had some cooler weather already earlier this month, but now it seems to be back to what is "normal" for this time of year here. I'd love the 50's at night! Your trip to Plimouth and then to the mountains would be lovely in the fall! The problem with that is everyone else wants to go there too and places are so crowded with "leaf peepers" and it is hard to get around. I know, I used to live in the mountains of NH/Maine in the fall. It was a madhouse!! Have a lovely week. Thank you for doing this for us again!
ReplyDeleteI will be so happy when our temps are in the 50's!! A ride through the mountains sounds wonderful, it is so flat here on the Texas coast. Happy Fall Annie☺♥
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. We are still having summer weather here.
ReplyDeleteIt's 95 today and I am enjoying my fall decor in the comfort of my home. What movies do you like to see at Thanksgiving?
ReplyDeleteWe had some 50's overnight a few weeks ago and then it got hot again (false fall). We are finally getting some rain today. We need it so bad. Loved your answers! Have a nice week!
