In The Groove

Hello friends and internet family.  The storm is over after 4 days of wild surf, rain and wind.
Now a bit of sunshine and cold weather.  It was 45°F last night and this morning and only in the low 50s today.
Here is this week's Sat.9

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you ato visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Into the Groove (1985)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune?        Hear it here.

1) Madonna begins this song by telling us, "I'm waiting." What's something you're waiting for today?
I am doing this on Thursday evening and awaiting the arrival of the Famous Anonymous tomorrow morning to watch Tony and Ziva,

2) She sings that dancing gives her a feeling so good she hopes it will never end. What reliably lifts your spirits?
I am in the dancing camp too.  It can do wonders.

3) As a school girl in Michigan, Madonna was a good student but could be disruptive. Classmates recall her doing cartwheels in the halls between classes. Can you do a cartwheel?
I could when younger, yes.  I was quite athletic.

4) It's not surprising that a girl from the Detroit area would love cars. Madonna's car collection is valued at more than $2 million. The one she seems to drive most often is a 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV. Insurance industry data tells us Americans typically keep their cars for 8 years. How long have you had your current vehicle?
Maybe 6 years?

5) She has referred to Nancy Sinatra as one of her idols, saying "These Boots Were Made for Walking" and its accompanying video impressed her when she was a little girl. What pop song brings back memories from your childhood?
The Big Rock Candy Mountain by Burl Ives
My father used to grow rock candy for me in the kitchen... big long strings of sweet crystal sugar  and this song reminds me of it.
It is also a real mountain in Utah.

6) Madonna suffers from brontophobia, or the fear of thunder and lightening. Are you afraid of storms?
No, not really.  Cautious perhaps if they are very bad.
Shouldn't Bronto-phobia be a fear of  the Brontosaurus?

7) In 1985, when this song was popular, the Titanic wreckage was discovered. There have been at least a dozen movies about that ill-fated ship. Have you seen any of them?
Yes, quite a few.

8) Also in 1985, Bruce Willis became a star with a hit show about a detective agency. Can you name it? (Extra non-existent points if you can recall the agency's name.)
Moonlighting and the Blue Moon Detective Agency.

9) Random question: Describe your perfect ice cream sundae.
That would be a CMP.. Chocolate, Marshmallow and Peanuts
several scoops of  real vanilla ice cream.
Marshmallow topping
Chocolate syrup
Peanuts,
Whipped cream and a cherry on top.

  2. Perfect Ice cream sundae? Chocolate chip mint with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and a dollop of homemade whipped cream. I rarely indulge in any of that, but would certainly love to. Blessings, Annie!

  5. I keep forgetting about Tony and Ziva. I haven't seen it yet. Is it good? We binged all 20 (or something like that) seasons of NCIS during Covid and really enjoyed the Tony/Ziva story line.

  7. When Josh was about 2-3 years old we watched O Brother Where Art Thou and Big Rock Candy Mountain was on the soundtrack. We listened to it a lot when he was little.

  9. I laughed at your bronto-phobia comment. Very cool. And rock candy is hard to make, I never knew of anyone actually attempting it. So wow to your dad!
