2. Were you the student who sat in the front row or hid in the back of the class? Our seats were assigned. You sat according to the teachers plan.
If you could go back and take one high school class again just for fun, which would it be? Well if I go back and can not be disabled anymore I would take gym again for fun. I loved it and was very athletic.
3. What characteristics do you think are essential in a good teacher (this can be applied to anyone who teaches, not just classroom teachers)?
Patience , kindness and good humor.
4. September 2nd is National Grits Day. Have you ever eaten grits? Yes I have.
Are you a fan? Nppe!
If so how do you like yours? I like them best if they are on someone else's menu but not mine.
Would people describe you as 'having grit'? I guess so but you need to ask them.
5. What's something you're never too old or too young to enjoy? Having a good time and a good life.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I enjoyed living this kind of childhood life. What about you? Did you explore when you were a kid?
Please consider taking part in our Tuesday 4..she said trying to drum up participation. The link is in the tabs above.

I did explore when I was a kid. There may have been the same dangers as now, but they weren’t hyped up as much…
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have a barbeque over the summer either. We just didn't find the time or didn't fancy it.
ReplyDeletePatience is such a big thing when it comes to being a teacher.
Oh yes, I was an explorer when I was a kid, those were the best days!
We rode our bikes for blocks and miles. My sister and I used to ride our bikes a few miles to the swim club in the summer. It was all neighborhood roads, but I can't imagine parents let their kids do that now. We felt so free and it was empowering to do something like that on our own. Our humidity is off the charts here today. I wasn't really quite ready for fall, but today makes me think maybe I am.
ReplyDeleteThese are great answers. More BBQ's would be great
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cartoon, Annie. Yes, that was my childhood, too. Living in the South, grits are a big part of our eating habits.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in a small town in Arkansas and we definitely wandered! Love your answers and the fun. Oh....I have never eaten grits though! hahaha!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you as I did nothing to have or host a real summer BBQ this year and summer is over. I wasn't like you as a child exploring everywhere. We lived a distance from school and the walk home was long and almost in the country. We played outside a lot but mostly in our very large yard and the adjacent empty property. We also explored on weekends with siblings or neighbourhood friends. My folks also liked to go for long walks on the bush trails and not too far from home. So I did get my exploring in that way. Enjoy your weekend ahead.
