A Woman's Life...

I am sorry the Tuesday 4 went up late this week. I simply forgot which is odd since I began working on it a few days ago. But Sunday came and went without a thought about it!
If you ever have some ideas for good subjects for Tuesday 4 let me know here in comments or in comments at Tuesday 5 or in Facebook.    I really want the subjects to be enjoyable or to get people thinking and discussing.
Looking at the picture I am thinking how much I could use a few days at a hotel here at the beach.  I would eat my way down the boardwalk from one end to the other.  And there would be no trave involved!
A few days in Cape May would be heavenly.  It's one of the most beautiful shore towns ever.. all Victorian homes and B&B's. Horse and carriages.. so pretty.  Ain't gonna happen so I will go sit by the bay and enjoy myself with a nice big WaWa coffee and a big soft pretzel.

Well, it's good to see you back here at Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

Whenever I write Tuesday 4   I will inevitably hit the 5 instead of the 4.

Oh well... Let's talk about Moms and Wives and other  unpaid domestic servants.

1. Have you ever found yourself in the same position as this lady?  How did you feel about it?

The only vacations I went on like the one in the photo was with my parents in Wildwood , NJ and once in Seaside.  I don't think we ate anything but breakfast in the  rented houses.   We only went on two vacations anyway.

2.. Women do the cooking, the cleaning up and the organizing while the rest of the family reap the rewards of that.. is it fair?

No, the family should be helping out with dishes, cleaning up and cooking if they can. After all Mom needs a vacation too and Moms need to have days off as well.   Some holidays should be catered for the woman's sake.

3.  Vacations at air b&bs or rental homes often mean Mom does all the work.  What kind of holiday or vacation would be most restful for you?

Staying at a  5 star hotel is the best relaxation.  Everything is first class and eating out is the best way to relax I think.

4.  In Proverbs 31, the wife is married to a very prominent man in town.  She runs the house, has a cottage industry, owns vineyards on her own and buys and sells real estate.

What kind of woman are you? Do you hold a job.. do you do the housework.. do you find rewards in service to others or do you find it can be wearing on  you or perhaps a little bit of both.

I held 2 jobs, both full time while raising kids and taking care of an invalid mother.  I had no working oven, no dryer and no car.  I took the bus to work and walked for part of the way.   I was suffering from spinal stenosis and was on my feet for over 16 hours a day.   Do I want pity? YES!!      😋     It was hard.  Did I complain? No.  I am a team player, God help me.

What  earthly rewards do you get out of  the life you are living?

I live alone now and the reward is peace and quiet.

Women...

Tuesday 4 is available  here.       Please come and join in.

Here is something worth thinking about:

So is this:

“She was stronger alone; and her own good sense so well supported her, that her firmness was as unshaken, her appearance of cheerfulness as invariable, as, with regrets so poignant and so fresh, it was possible for them to be.”         ― Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility

Margaret Thatcher quotes:
“In politics, if you want anything said, ask a man.  If you want anything done, ask a woman."
“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
“Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't.”
“You can't shake hands with a clenched fist.”    ― Indira Gandhi   .. preach it sister!

Sunday Stealing

So  yesterday was 81F after days in the 40s.  Spring is so odd with it's ups and downs in weather.

Here is the first meme of the week from Sunday Stealing who has stolen this from Shannon  at Moments of Introspection.

1. What book are you currently reading?
At this moment I am not reading anything but I am looking around to find something that interests me.   Any suggestions?
2. Have you ever smoked?
No, I have not and never even tried.

3. Do you own a gun?
No, I don't own one and never haved.   I don't know too many people who do unless they go hunting.

4. What is your favorite candy?
I have always liked Snickers and Turtles a lot.

5. Hot dogs: yay or nay?
I love hot dogs the Jersey way:  fried crispy with sauerkraut and polish mustard or as an Italian hot dog fried with fried red peppers , onions and fried potatoes on it.

6. Favorite movie?
There are so many that I have really enjoyed.  Maybe I will narrow it down to "Moonstruck" .  It's a very funny story.
Saturday night I watched "You've Got Mail" with my friend.  I always enjoy that movie.

7. What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
I drank tea for most of my life.   Now I will have some coffee with powdered creamer but while I can drink a few cups of tea, one cup of coffee is more than enough.  I find it hard on the stomach and can be too bitter.

8. What do you drink throughout the day?
The most usual drink is water and iced tea in summer and I like a hot cup of tea around 3 O'clock.

9. Do you do push ups?
From my chair yes in a way. I use my arms to push myself upwards. Traditional ones I have not done since high school.

10. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry?
I have two.. a locket with my Bonnie in it and a mother's necklace with all my kids on it.

11. Current worry?
Getting the house spruced up.
12. Current annoyance?
Politics.. its a shame and a mess.
13. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets?
No.  I like cooler sheets and cotton is my first choice.  A silk pillowcase is nice for the skin and hair though.
15.  Can you whistle?   Yes, I can whistle.   I used to like to hear Roger Whitaker whistle.
