Routines.. Tuesday 4

  Howdy!

Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
They say having routines in your life keeps you mentally healthier than living a disorganized or haphazard life. Schedules have a profound effect on our well being. Belonging to clubs, organizations is good for us.
According to research from UCLA  Health, "  a predictable daily routine supports mental health by reducing stress, lowering cognitive load, and creating a steady sense of personal control. "
It keeps sickness away too. People with good daily routines and habits live longer and decidedly healthier lives.  It promotes a feeling of productiveness and purpose.
Boredom contributes to sickness and cognitive decline in the elderly.

1. Do you have a daily routine for yourself and for your home?
I try to keep one up but since I am disabled it is now harder but  I try to use the Fuller sweeper daily, do dishes on time or the next morning, keep the kitchen and bathrooms clean daily, change sheets, etc.

2. What is your morning routine? How about your bedtime routine?
In the morning  I wash my face and hands,  brush my teeth, make my Stumptown Holler Mountain coffee, drink a bottle of water.   Then I feed the fish and get some sunshine.
At night, I wash my face, brush my teeth .  I apply castor oil .

3.Do you have a routine get together for a family meal or game/movie or pizza night?
We used to do that like clockwork but now 2 of us are in other places so it's harder.

4. AnyTV programs, clubs, organizational routines you never want to miss? Do you attend town meetings, choir practice?
There is nothing on right now that I must see and  I havent been getting out much lately at all.

  1. We go through seasons where we are sometimes busy out and about and other times living quietly at home. I'm learning to embrace the latter as I find when we're dealing with health issues and disabilities, we have to learn to adapt. I get the sense that you have definitely had to adapt to your. disabilities in the last few years. I'm glad you live in a beautiful place with your beaches and ocean views and your Koi fish to share with us.

  2. What an interesting name for a coffee! Where did you ever hear of that one and try it? Since I'm not a coffee drinker, I probably wouldn't try it, but I love the name! You mentioned using a Fuller Sweeper...is that one of the little push sweepers by Fuller Brush? Did you know that I used to sell Fuller Brush products and at one one was a Division Manager with them in Ohio? I have a little red Fuller Electrostatic sweeper, which I love. I used to demonstrate those when I'd call on customers! LOL.
I'm glad you get out in the sunshine (when you have it!) and feed the fish and enjoy the morning beauty around you. Thank you for sharing the beauties with us! Oh, and you should add to your routine that you do this meme for us every week! That's a BIG deal!! Blessings to you dear Annie.

    1. Yes, its the Fuller Brush Electrostaticsweeper and it does a wonderful job. I have one in pink! I think it's cool you were with Fuller. I think their products are great. Stumptown I found when looking for a coffee that was not carcinogenic and carried mold and mildew as most do! Stumptown is famous for being pure. I am so glad you like the Tuesday 4

  3. I try to stay on a daily routine whenever I can, Annie. It does help in reducing stress, for sure.

  4. We don't have any regular family times these days, either, with our daughter's children growing and getting busy and my mom and stepdad being older and not in the best of health. I'm even trying to figure out how we can all get together for Thanksgiving this year.

  5. Schedules are important and , yes , adjustments as we age are wise . Finding new ways to accomplish the same required tasks keep our brains working , too !
    Good questions !
