Wednesday Night Haiku #3

Alone on the shore
scent of salt water,pounding surf.
Hear the sea gulls song?
by AJ

Haiku is usually 3 lines.  The first line is 5 syllables, the second is 7 and the last 5 again.
My favorite poet is  Matsuo Basho ( 1644–1694). I love his poetry.
I discovered the beauty of Japanese brush painting and Haiku when I was a young teen and have loved both since.

  2. Lovely poetry...
    captures my every sea thought...
    gives me happy sighs.

    Keep cool,my friend!
The high temps and humidity outside feel like
walking into a wall of heat...
love the summer warmth...this? not so much
    Be well...
