A HodgePodge

 1. March 15th is known as The Ides of March, the date on which Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C....have you ever been to Rome? If so what did you love most about the city? If not, is this a place you'd like to visit?
My family have been to Rome many times.  I have never been.
The Little at the Vatican

2. 'Rome wasn't built in a day.' What project/activity/improvement (of any kind) do you have going on right now to which this saying might be applied?
My kitchen floor. It has to be completely torn up and replaced.

3. Let's do a little this or that with some Italian foods...

Caprese salad or Prosciutto with melon?  Caprese
Bruschetta or Antipasto?  Bruschetta
lasagne or ravioli?  Lasagna
bolognese or Carbonara? Bolognese
Risotto or gnocchi?  Risotto
tiramisu~gelato~cannoli?  Tiramisu

4. Of the colors red, white, and green which would I find most prevalent in your home?   White

Which one do you think is most flattering to you in terms of your wardrobe?
All of them.  I am a deep winter and jewel colors are my best colors.. lipstick red, emerald green, snow white, cobalt blue, royal purple.. things like that.

Have you ever had your colors done?  Yes.  Once as a teen and again as an adult

Is that something you'd be interested in doing?  I've done it already.

5. Life would be boring without....        Nature

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Here is Julius Caesar (Yulius Kaiser) done as he would look today.. He looks very English actually.
We now know that the C in Latin is pronounced like a hard K.. so the Germans got it right.  It is Kaiser not sea-zer.
He looks like he should be the new James Bond I think.
Beware the Ides of March Caesar!!  But if you fear the 15th of March be aware that the calendar today is not the same as the old Julian calendar.  For some stupid reason we changed to the Gregorian calendar.
Julius was murdered on the Ides of March in 44 BC.     He had light brown or sandy hair and wine colored eyes.. meaning deep sapphire blue.     Yes, there is such a thing as blue wine.
His family were the gens Julii (You-lee-eye) a high ranked prestigious clan  descended from   Aeaneas the Trojan hero.

You might like to know that Noah himself planted the grapes in Italy.  He resided in Genoa (Ge-Noah)
and there are the original grapes just as originally created.

  1. Well, that was certainly interesting! I love that picture of Julius Caesar! Amazing, and I'd say he looks more German except for the nose. I've never seen blue wine, but it definitely looks like Sapphire blue, my birthstone! Interesting that Noah planted the grapes in Italy. I guess Noah really had what you'd call a "blank canvas", to start everything over, with very fertile ground! I enjoyed reading your post and learned a lot today!
