Manic Monday

Sunday has come with a promise of storms on the way.
I'd like to know what the government is doing about the old hurricane damage.  The Amish did more than anyone else!

Welcome to Sunday Stealing. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. Cheers to all of us thieves!

Manic Monday. Stolen from a blog that alas, is no more.

1) What's the longest you've gone without sleep?
It was more than 48 hours. I had been taking care of my mother who was bed ridden for the last 10 years of her life.   I got a chance to go to  Sandbridge in Virginia.. I  was so sleepy I was hallucinating and unable to walk straight.  I slept for a good 18 hours and felt so much better.\

2) What was the highlight of your last week?
Highlights of my life are always when I am with friends and family. I was with all of them this week  and that was wonderful.

3) You have to give a 10-minute speech to a group of high school students. What's your topic?
How to avoid bad relationships...what to look for in people.

4) What is the single best decision you've ever made in your life?
There is no one single best decision that I can think of.

5) If you could ask a coworker, friend or family member a question and be guaranteed an honest answer, who would you choose and what would you ask?
I'd ask them why they are so downright stupid.

6) Do you cook for yourself when you're home alone?
I am alone most of the time and if I want to eat I have to cook for myself. Whether I am sick or hurting or whatever I have to take care of  myself.

7) Do you most often access the internet from your computer, your phone, or your smart watch?
From my personal computer.  I hardly ever look at my phone and I don't own or want a smart watch.

8) Do you have more email addresses or phone numbers
One phone.  Couple email addresses.

9) What's the biggest source of anger in your life right now?
I am not angry.     Anger solves nothing.  Anger leads to alienation, hate, war but it will never bring about any kind of solution for any problem you have.
There are people who enjoy being angry though.   It's attention getting.  It gives them meaning in their life.. purpose.   I'd rather not be one of them.

10) Mondays make me feel _as though things comes to a halt.___The world seems odd on Mondays._I thinkits the attitude people have about returning to work.

  1. I know you probably meant it seriously, but when I read the answer to #5 . . .I laughed out loud. There are a few people I could ask that same question!

  4. The Amish should build houses everywhere. I bet they last forever. I heard they helped so many people after the hurricane.

  5. Being angry is a complete waste of time and energy, and does no one good in the long run. Good answers to these questions, Annie. Have a blessed week!

  6. I love your answer to the anger question. I'm kind of feeling the same way although i wrote about the state of our nation. I guess it makes me more sad and concerned than angry though.

  7. Hi !
I wish someone had taught me , early on and thereafter , how to judge character - good and bad .
Your address to high-school students is vital ! Learning about judging character , without adequate preparation , always comes with pain . How much peace and happiness could be restored , if wise decisions were made .

  9. Such great answers, Annie. I love your down to earth wisdom. And yes, we'd all like to know from some people, "why are you so stupid?", but decorum and proper manners does not permit us to ask that question. So we continue on, wondering, but thankful that we aren't that stupid ourselves, at least not in our minds! LOL. Maybe in theirs! Your advice to young people is wonderful. Yes, something we could all use some guidance in no matter how old we are. And your response about anger is spot on. I like what the Bible says about "be angry, but do not sin. Do not let the sun go down upon your wrath." That is advice that I would give to any newly married couple. (Ephesians 4:26). I don't use email as often as I used to. I get so many Junk emails and they just take up so much space and make me miss the important ones. Nothing is perfect in this cyber world, that is for certain. Thank you for your interesting responses.I enjoyed this.
