Manic Sunday Stealing

Hello my friends and internet family,
Yes, it's raining again.
My yard and the woods behind me are like a super green jungle this year.
Temps are down into the 60°F again and it's lovely.
I am preparing for the July 4th celebration.
The towns around have fireworks all summer long. Our town has them every Wednesday night in summer and on the beach itself every Wednesday too.   We also have weekly concerts on the beach and in the park.  Have to keep the tourists happy and it is tourist season as well as that time when the Florida Snowbirds come back.
Did you know that fish love the rain?  My fish come up to feel the rain on them.. they love it! They play in the waterfall too but rain seems to be a special treat.  Down at the beach I've noticed that dolphins and whales like the rain as well and breach up to feel it.  I am with them! I like rain too.  I love the cozy feel of my home on rainy days and nights. I like watching the raindrops on the water too.  I love Neil Sedaka's Laughter in the Rain too.

Welcome to Sunday Stealing. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. Cheers to all of us thieves!

This week we return to steal again from Manic Monday, a blog that is no more.

Just Another Manic Monday

1. What is something you should throw away, but just can't bring yourself to part with?
Some say my Teddy which I've had since age 3 but I promised him he could come to paradise with me and I will try to keep that promise. He is in very critical condition but, I love him.

2. When you make yourself a sandwich, do you cut it on the diagonal, straight up the middle, or not at all?
I cut it on diagonal usually but have also cut in half at times.  Sometimes, if the sandwich is really loaded with stuff I don't cut it at all.

3. What song or sound brings back memories of childhood?

The tennessee Waltz by Patty Page.  I heard it on the TV or radio and  it became a favorite.  I was very little too but I knew all the words. These songs were already old when I heard them but they never go out of style I think;
My 2nd grade teacher loved music and taught us to sing April Showers  one spring  and Love is a Many Splendored Thing.     Back then we had music classes in school and learned to read music, sing and play an instrument.
And Theme from  a Summer Place because my paretns loved the beach so much and passed it on to me.  Every free moment was spent on the beach when I was young.    I never saw the movie until I was grown up though as it really isn't a movie suitable for children.

4. Who is the first person you call when you have good news?
Usually my dear friend Katy. I made her a blog but she doesn't blogs anymore. But you can see what she posted in the past here :Tea and Conversation.

5. Have you ever set out on a walk in the rain?

    1. Maybe a very good seamstress could. I can sew but his insides are a mess and they are some kind of straw graystuff mix. His head is coming off.. pieces are missing and he needs new fur in places. I've thought of it a lot. As a kid he was almost as big as me and I really did love the little guy.

  8. How sweet to still have your teddy bear. I have a newer bear that my hubby gave me when I was in the hospital the last time for surgery. It is so sweet and cuddly, and I sleep with it every night. I loved Tennessee Waltz and Patti Paige! And yes, those other old time favorite songs. Those do bring back memories. And I prefer the diagonal cut on my sandwich, but like you, I sometimes do the straight half cut. Depends on the shape and size of the bread and contents and which is easier to hold. Hope you are having a great weekend. I just made myself a chocolate soda, thanks to your recipe! It was SO good!! I may have to do that more often, even though I probably shouldn't! Thank you for sharing it with us! I loved it!

I also have my Teddy...he's wearing a makeshift diaper made from one of my Nana's handkerchiefs . He keeps two dolls company , of the same vintage . somehow they survived many purge attempts...couldn't bear to part with them .

  10. Theme from a Summer place reminds me of my mom. We watched so many movies together. I remember how excited I was when she took me to see GWTW. We loved musicals too, especially the Rogers and Hammerstein movies. Your weather sounds nice. We sure need the rain. My dog does not like the fireworks, and we hate to see her so scared. I miss seeing them at Disneyland. Have a great week!
