I always write these before Friday evening and have them post automatically. So when I write it's always a bit in the past.
Thursday evening the heat wave broke suddenly and it went from the high 90's to barely 60°F and been in the low 60s ever since. Lovely weather I think but, I also enjoyed the heat.
In other news, my fish pond is crystal clear.. the fish are happy, friendly as puppies and very active.
My daughter helped clean the filter and was amazed.. "They follow me around and won't let me alone." Nope. They are curious and love to be involved with what you are doing.
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Consider Me Gone (2009)
1) In this song, poor Reba McEntire confronts a lover who makes her feel like she's not good enough. Let's go in a more positive direction: Who in your life makes you feel happy and secure?
All my kids and friends
2) Reba hopes her lover will look back on her as someone who used to make him laugh. Who did you most recently laugh with?
The Famous Anonymous
3) She was director James Cameron's first choice to play Molly Brown in the 1997 blockbuster Titanic, but she had to turn down the role because she was committed to a concert tour. Think of the last invitation you received. Did you say yes or no?
I said yes and went. I think Reba would not have been good in the part , too skinny, too southern. Kathy Bates was perfect and even looked a bit like a prettier version of the real Molly Brown.
4) Reba comes from a rodeo family: both her father and grandfather were champion steer ropers and her mother was a barrel racer. Have you ever been to a rodeo?
Been to them and in them as a barrel racer myself.
Back in the day I was secretary of the Utah Gymkhana Assoc. and my husband was very active in rodeo and man, could he ride!
5) She loves game nights with family and friends because she says she's "a competitive person." When you play friendly board or card games, do you always play to win?
Nope. I play to have a good time. I am not fond of competition. When I ran it was not to compete but for the love of running. Same with ice skating, riding and even as a dancer.. I did them all only for the love of movement.
6) Reba wears tall boots all the time, even in summer, and has more than 100 pairs. Do you often wear boots?
I had one good pair I loved. They were by Justin boots and were deep navy blue withsome white stitching. Comfortable as rocking chairs. Wore them for riding and a lot of other times too but, being disabled now makes shoes difficult. Boots would be nearly impossible.
For the eternally curious.. They were size 7B with 2 inch heels.
7) In 2009, when this song was popular, Mark Zuckerberg tried unsuccessfully to buy Twitter. Elon Musk acquired it in 2022 and renamed it X. Do you often post to Twitter/X?
Yes, I post a lot almost every day to X.
8) Back in 2009, DuPont announced that silver and black were the most popular vehicle colors, accounting for half the cars the world over. What color is your ride?
It is a dark green/turquoise color.
9) Random question: Have you ever had a job that required you to wear a hairnet?
In sterile conditions I wore a surgical cap to cover my hair, yes.

I have to agree with you about Reba as Molly Brown
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing about your past work in the rodeo, Annie! I've never been to one, but I've seen lots of features about them here and there. That must have been a grand time for you. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool about your rodeo work. I saw rodeos when I was a child but I don't remember much about them.
