For Today
Outside my window... Having gone to bed extremely early yesterday, I woke up at 2:30AM. It is very cool but extremely humid out.
It is dark and quiet except for the sound of crickets and the occasional frog leaping into the water. I hear fish sweep the surface every now and again.
I am thinking... That I wish pain in my back had not woken me up. I could sleep for days!
I am thankful... For Garfield my little pal who sticks to me like a little starfish sticks to a rock.Since he lost his dog buddy Brandy and his sibling Sandy I am all that's left and he is my constant companion.
In the kitchen... cooking a lot of fresh veggies and mushroom combos. Eating more oatmeal at breakfast time.
I am wearing... pajamas consisting of a gray tank tee shirt and lavender shorts with poodles on them.
I am creating... A series of paintings based on the changing seasons. I am using an adaptation here as my summer header.
I am going... to the doctor later this morning for a visit.
I am reading... Just finished Summer in the City for the second time. Always reading religious books of one kind or another.
Around the house...Finding innovative ways to get around and do simple chores that are so difficult now since standing and walking are getting harder.
One of my favorite things... this summer it is soft vanilla ice cream in a cone and icy cold ice tea with fresh lemon.
A peek into my life...

(I changed a few of the questions slightly and left out others. Hope that is okay)
Morning Annie;
ReplyDeleteI love your SWD entry. It's okay that you don't used all the fields on the list. I always change mine. I can't wait to see your new seasons headers. I know I'll love them. One day I hope to feature another painting of yours.
Thank you for visiting my recipe site. It's truly appreciated.
Hopefully your back pain goes away my friend. Hugs
You make your summer sound very serene. When I wake up at night I don't hear a thing. I do hear a pigeon making its sound in the courtyard each dawn, which in the summer is very, very early.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie,
ReplyDeleteI love your SWD post today :) So sorry you are still having pain with your back :( Hope you have a painfree days ahead!
Hugs, Dru

Hi Annie! I love your header... it reminds me of the Linda Nelson Stocks paintings that are in the calendar that I buy every year. I love that genre of art- it's really my favorite. I have a set of Villeroy & Boch Naif dinnerware that is similar but French rather than American country. Still trying to catch up but good to be home with our pets- they are such companions, aren't they? Garfield sounds so precious! (((Hugz)))
ReplyDeleteI wish you didn't have problems with the walking and standing, I certainly understand what a burden it is. Love reading your blogs.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get relief from your back problems and pain, Annie. I've only had that problem once in my life and wouldn't want to experience it again. I've heard that lots of rest is sometimes the best and only cure.
ReplyDeleteYour header painting is a delight! So much sweet details in it that I enjoyed looking at.
