A Date is Set

It is a lovely 80° F sunshine-filled day today.  From 28° F a few days ago in the night to this!
Balmy breezes are blowing.
I got a date today for my surgery. May 14th will be the day. Until then I am wheelchair bound but, coping.
Without the surgery I won't walk anymore as the nerves are impinged too badly to remain as they are. Physical therapy would be harmful and useless at this point.
A three day hospital stay and a 10 day stay in a rehab facility. Not something I am looking forward to.
I would have physical therapy 3 to 5 times a day that way. Ouch but, I want to stand upright a bit.
Right now I have lost 80 percent of my mobility so the surgery option is something that must be done for basic quality of life.
The big gull is enjoying the warm weather too!  I took the photo last year I believe, but either he/she or another gull is always standing or sitting on the dock.

  1. Hi Annie,
We are heading into the 80's here in the valleys also! Crazy that yours went from 28 to 80!! Just a little over a month before your surgery! It does sound hard but 10 days in rehab and the PT 3-5 times a day will whip you back into good shape! I can't even imagine what you are going thru I have been lucky to not have had any kind of back or spin problems so far! Great picture by the way. Have a wonderful rest of the day. Hugs, Dru

  2. Hi Annie, We are in the 80's here but that's pretty typical for Florida. So happy that your surgery date is set & that you know what is ahead for you. The therapy plans sound rigorous but if that's what it takes then just do it. Being able to walk will be well worth it. In the meantime, God bless! Hugz!

  3. Hi Annie! This weather is just beautiful, isn't it? It's so nice to have the windows open. I'm really glad that you have a date and pray that this surgery will work for you. As Marge said, being able to walk again will be well worth the cost of the hospital and rehab stay. :) Hugs!

  5. I am praying for the surgery to be successful and that you are able to be on your feet and standing and walking soon. I know this is going to be a stressful time but God is with you. We have come to love you Annie!
