Autumn Vignettes

The days are very chilly now and beach days seem to be over, though you never really know as warm days sometimes sprinkle themselves into the fall with some regularity. But it is has been very cool and cups of hot pumpkin latte are my favorite drink right now. Streets are quiet during the day with all the kids back to school but after school are they are busy running up and down the street until the dark comes in earlier and earlier each day. It is time for sweatshirts and sweaters. Here are my contributions to Friday Foto Friends and Skywatch Friday. I hope you enjoy them.

I found this lighted pumpkin at Michael's and gave it a home by the mercury glass lamp in my office. It is very autumny, I think and I enjoy its soft glow.
If you are like me you will be curious as to what is on the glass lamp. It says, La Montagne de L'eau.  (Mountain of water)

Trees are turning yellow and red and orange.

The creek, with its cedar water, takes on a creamy beige look in the shallows sometimes. I find it to be so unique.  Colorful leaf boats float down toward the bay.

Looking toward the bay...just ahead down the creek. Yes, you can walk there from here. It widens up ahead and the pines are not as thick.

Fish slow down a bit when the weather gets chilly at night and the water temperatures go down. They begin to go into hybernation mode.
Raindrops continue to excite them anyway. They love when it rains and play in the drops close to the surface.

Leaves of orange and brown

Autumn enters the dining room too with oranges and browns.
The light was bad for this photo, but I don't mind it. I kind of like this look where the window light takes the spotlight.

The curtains have small metallic squares that sparkle and reflect light so nicely. The light twinkles through the leaves during the afternoon spreading pretty little dancing lights all over the room.

The crystals on the kitchen window cast rainbows all over the back of the house in the morning and early afternoon. The ceiling, the furniture, the appliances all covered in rainbows.
I loved them in Pollyanna and did the same in my own house. Crystals all over the place!

Here are puppy feet in the sand.
The tire track is from a boat trailer backing into the water to launch. You can see a man's foot print too.

The pink and blue sky over the bay on an autumn evening.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come again soon.

  4. Where do I begin? I love all of this...so artistically done! The lighted pumpkin is so simply gorgeous...next to that lovely lamp makes a perfect combo. Love the autumn leaves, the shimmering water, goldfish pond, and the window. Rainbows from the crystals...what a refreshing light! And your table looks inviting, as well as that chair with the knitted afghan spread upon it. I want to curl up in it and read a good book. I love all the "tracks" in the sand...I watch the sand here for footprints of all kinds as well... bears, deer, bobcat, coyote, armadillo, raccoon, and dogs and people as well. Always interesting to see who has passed by in the night. So much more interesting than plan old asphalt roads. Love the pink and blue skies...a softer ending to a beautiful day. Thank you for this delightful post. I feel it in my heart.

  5. Beautiful sky shot. I also like the photo of the raindrops hitting the pond water. I enjoy looking for signs in the sand on my desert hikes. You never know what you are going to find!
