It is sunny and chilly right now, but yesterday it was pouring rain and the Little came home from school soaking wet and icy cold. After bundling her up and giving her
a Twix as an after school snack (don't judge), she settled in to play
some games on the sofa with the big fur comforter I keep there. She was
a happy camper. Rain like that is no fun at all.
It might rain again later today but I hope not when the school buses come! She had an umbrella but the wind was so powerful it blew the umbrella inside out and blew the rain sideways into her.

ReplyDeleteThe Little is blessed to have you as her grandmother. I agree with Italian imports I too will only buy crushed, puree, sauce tomatoes from Italy. Not being able to get to the stores you mentioned, ( I used to drive to them when I was still driving) I basically buy online and stick to designer clothes and shoes. Have a day of blessings dear Annie.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your little had a warm, dry place to cozy up after that terrible walk in the freezing rain. I do hope she is well today and not suffering any ill effects. You are a wonderful grandmother! I wish I had some littles to come cozy up in my living room at the end of the day. Now, regarding canned goods, etc., I usually by some brand names, depending on the store. Our Publix store has very good quality canned goods, and I often prefer them to the name-brands. I try not to use too many canned vegetables anyway. Prefer frozen or fresh. I am not a style conscious person. I also buy many things at WAlmart, and they last forever, and if they don't, they were cheap enough to buy another. I do prefer Levi's also, for jeans. I don't buy many new clothes now that I am retired. I prefer comfort to style any day. Shoes, I do buy a name brand for my every day shoes, Skechers...they are so comfortable, and they support my feet well as we walk a lot. I wear them in the house as well. Dress shoes I have name brand, but very few pairs...black, navy, and that's pretty much it. Thankfully I don't have to dress up except Sunday, and then I take them off as soon as I get home (or in the car!) Purses? I've carried one particular handmade tapestry bag for many years. It was so well made, and is washable, and goes with most everything, and I hate changing bags....so now, after MANY years, the lining is getting worn out, and I will probably have to find another. I do have smaller bags for church, black, navy...to go with the shoes...

Note to Pam - that purse lining can be replaced ! A purse so favored deserves a new life .
Carefully remove the lining and use it as a pattern for the new one . It's a good time to make improvements , before you sew the new one in . good luck !
