Bang.. saturday 9

Hey friends, welcome to the weekend. I hope you are going to have a lovely few days.

It has been a short week as they all have lately.  Days are getting chillier , prettier as the days go by. Autumn is just the most lovely time of year and usually the weather is perfect in autumn.  They say you don't need to capitalize autumn or any of the seasons but, I like to so I do.      Neighbors have Halloween decorations out and they all look wonderful, thouth I am not really fond of the really scary/nasty ones.  I do love the fall ones though.  I love when people decorate their homes for holidays. Do you?  This year the stores have very little in the way of Fall decor, however.

"Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!"

Saturday 9: Bang! (2020)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song is about a young man who is living on his own and doing adult things, like getting his own apartment, eating better and doing his own taxes, but he doesn't yet feel grown up. Do you remember when you felt like a grown up?

Yes and it wasn't all that long ago. I think it takes a life time to grow up. People think they are complete at 40.. but nope. They aren't.

2) He mentions not being sure of his login password. Is this something you struggle with? Or are you able to zip into your accounts?   I know them and keep them handy in my mind.

3) Both the video and CD cover show the band playing games of chance. What's the last game that you played? Candy Crush or June's Journey.

4) This week's featured band, AJR, is named for the three brothers who make up the trio -- Adam, Jack and Ryan Met. Until recently, all three brothers lived at home and wrote songs together in the Met family living room. Do you have siblings? If so, what's something you enjoy doing together?

Not really and no.

5) The oldest Met brother, Adam, now lives with his girlfriend in an apartment near Columbia University, where he is a PhD candidate. During the school year, he only works on his music on weekends. Next summer, in 2022, he should be done with his studies and plans on touring the country with the band. Some tour dates are already scheduled. If possible, do you like to make plans far in advance? Or do you prefer spontaneity?
Making plans is fine if you are prepared to change them.

6) Jack and Ryan also attend Columbia and share an apartment with their dog. They like to unwind on Fridays, after a week of classes, with a game of air hockey, followed by sushi or sashimi at their favorite Japanese restaurant. What did you do on Friday night?

Friday nights are quiet nights for me, usually reading and enjoying a nice hot cup of tea or coffee.

7) In 2020, the year this song was popular, the most streamed TV show was The Office. The show went off the air in 2013, but during the pandemic and quarantine, it found a new audience. What series have you binged on recently?    Big Love... a series about polygamy. You can rent the episodes for $1.99 on YouTube if you are interested.

8) According to Amazon, the best-selling novel of 2020 was Where the Crawdads Sing. Is there a novel you'd like to recommend to Sat 9ers?

I recommend anything by Agatha Christie, Robert Parker or Danielle Steele.

9) Random question: Your local drug store has self-check out. You confess to your best friend that you absent- mindedly missed scanning an item, walked out of the store with it, set off security and were caught unintentionally shoplifting. The store manager believed you so there were no repercussions, but you were mortified nevertheless. Would you expect your best friend to share your embarrassing story with his/her spouse?

Probably.  I think anytime you tell someone anything you should be prepared for them to tell others. People are just that way usually.  On the other hand I have many stories that were told to me in confidence that I have never revealed and never will.  Over all I think it's best to keep things to yourself rather than fuel gossip for others.

I hope you will join us for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.  I put the questions up on Sunday and the link is in the side bar. We would love to have you take part and get to know you better.

  1. Somehow, I don't think we're ever "done". Definitely not at 40. Have a great Saturday!

  2. Yes ! Autumn is so lovely , and that full moon on Wednesday was spectacular !
I admire those who have always known what they want to do with their life , early on .
One friend always tinkered in electronics and fixing things...another was a tidy soul , cleaning things up...each from age 5!!! And so they are in adulthood , quite happy doing what they love !
I , on the other hand , have been interested in many things , but unable to determine what would be the path when I grew up . In the vintage portion of my life , it has finally appeared !
    Look , I'm getting to be a grownup !!!
Have a splendid day . my friend !

  4. Agatha Christie is one of my top favorites too. I think I have all her books including the ones written under the name Mary Westmacott. They weren't as interesting to me but it's nice to have them on the shelf.
I'm reading a book that I would recommend that was gifted to me recently, "The Red Sea Rules" by Robert J. Morgan. It's so edifying. I needed this encouragement.
I've had many folks share their confidences with me too that I will never, ever share. Kinda helps I can't remember what they said anyway. *giggle*
    Have a blessed day! xx

  6. Candy Crush is brilliant of fun, and yes, yes, to Agatha Christie. I inherited a set of the books from my mother. She loved Agatha, too.
