Welcome to Tuesday 4 kept up in Toni Taddeo's memory.
rare horrific cancer and I took care of him in home hospice until he passed on. But it does change your life when circumstances change. The death was both sad and a release. My step son and I buried him at sea.
Studying, learning.. enrolled in university to study the bible as literatire.
Yes, it will matter greatly. I am also beginning to fix up my badly neglected home after 30 years. It is a process but the roof is now done and lovely in a very pale gray. Next the sinking bathroom.
I suppose I serve others. I try by caring for people through entertaining. I am shocked at how little people host others in their homes. Reaching out to have people over is seriously important but many never do it. My family always had guests over. Hospitality is essential if you believe in God. I have found myself caring for the sick and dying very often. Why I was placed in many of these situations I do not know but I have been with many people as they passed on.
Easter and Passover are coming quickly. Both are about life, so let's talk about life this week.
1. Is your life different this year? If so, how and what has changed?
I became a widow last year. He was mentally ill and it was never a good relationship. He got a veryrare horrific cancer and I took care of him in home hospice until he passed on. But it does change your life when circumstances change. The death was both sad and a release. My step son and I buried him at sea.
2. Are you satisfied with your spiritual life or could it be better? What do/will you do to make it better?
I will never be satisfied and no one should. I study and learn in order to grow.
3. What are you busy with today? Will this matter in 1 year? 3 years? 5 years?
Yes, it will matter greatly. I am also beginning to fix up my badly neglected home after 30 years. It is a process but the roof is now done and lovely in a very pale gray. Next the sinking bathroom.
4. Do you serve others in life? How do you do that?
I suppose I serve others. I try by caring for people through entertaining. I am shocked at how little people host others in their homes. Reaching out to have people over is seriously important but many never do it. My family always had guests over. Hospitality is essential if you believe in God. I have found myself caring for the sick and dying very often. Why I was placed in many of these situations I do not know but I have been with many people as they passed on.

Because my friend (to answer your last thought), you are well loved to take care of folks...and have such a loving heart. Plain and simple. I can't tell you how much you have meant to us these last few months...
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about your husband. God gives us the strength to take care of loved one when they are dying. That is nice that you are getting work done to you house. Growing spiritually in an ongoing process!
ReplyDeleteI would love to entertain more, but my husband is not a big social person. I use to more when I had my bigger house, but this house is much smaller. I do make it a point to be friendly and kind with others.
Dear and precious friend...Nana Dee , who loved you dearly , would tell you that had you not gone through all that life brought you (the good , the bad and the ugly) you would not be the person you are today !
ReplyDeleteYou are a blessing to all who know and love you !!!
I am so very sorry for the things you've been through, especially this past year. You managed to carry the burden so quietly that many of us were not aware of what you were going through. You have a very loving and caring heart to do the things you have done. Praying that life will take a happier turn for you in this year, especially in being able to repair things in your home that you've waited so long to be able to do. I am thrilled to hear that your roof is finally done! Praise God! And yes, practicing hospitality in our homes is a blessing and gift. I've not been able to do as much in the past couple of years due to health concerns, well, and of course because of the ugly "C" word that kept us apart so long. I am trying to do more these days, but find that I've neglected a lot of "chores" around the house that need to be done and it is very exhausting for me to try and get ready for company, so that is discouraging. But still we try...smaller groups than we used to do for many years, but our house is smaller too. Anyway, every day is a gift, and whatever we do with it certainly does matter. Thank you again for preparing these questions for us each week.
ReplyDeleteI agree that we should all continue to grow and learn in our faith. Happy Resurrection Day!
ReplyDeleteSending hugs to you! I love hosting and entertaining. I'd say I'm more casual, and enjoy buffet style, but we've always loved having people in our home.
