Howdy Partners and welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4! Fall and winter are holiday seasons. This week I am going back in time for one of Toni's first Tuesday 4 questionnaires about holidays. I have changed two questions slightly and I hope you don't mind.
Let's talk about holidays.
1. Which are your favorite Holiday(s)?
Thanksgiving, Chanukah (Latkes), Christmas (the lights!!) Fourth of July. Oh, I love them all!
2. Favorite Holiday movie or character?:
My favorite story is A Christmas Carol not for the Christmas but for the moral. One line by the second spirit makes it for me :
" Will you decide what men shall live, what men shall die? It may be that in the sight of Heaven you are more worthless and less fit to live than millions, like this poor man's child. Oh God, to hear the insect on the leaf pronouncing there is too much life among his hungry brothers in the dust!."
I like the character of Fred Holliwell, the nephew of Ebenezer Scrooge as played in the George C. Scott version of "A Christmas Carol" My favorite of all.
3. Favorite Holiday Dish To Make? : I make a killer turkey stuffing . I also make great pies. It's funny I feel I can say I am a good cook only because I dislike cooking so much. If I actually liked it I feel it would be conceited to say . I know, that's just odd.
4. Favorite Holiday Weather You Wish For?: I like warm, pleasant weather in July, not humid. I like chilly and windy in Autumn and I like a bit of snow and cold in the winter. I love four very distinct seasons as it makes life fun and interesting.
I hope you enjoyed this week's questions. As always let me know in comments here or at the Tuesday 4 site what subjects you would enjoy discussing.
Hi Annie: I enjoyed your answers. I like bits of all 4 seasons too. My favorite Christmas movie is White Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWow, I am impressed with your answer forv#1. You know I couldn’t think of any Vhristmas movies, because actually since Amamdagit married we just do not spend our time over the holidays watching movies like used to. But now I do remember one movies I really ove and it was The House Without. a Christmas tree with Mildred Natwick and Jason Robards. Love them both very much!
ReplyDeleteI do love A Christmas Carol also. I like one of the very old ones...can't think of the actor for Scrooge, but June Lockhart and her real father and mother are part of the Cratchit family. That's the best one in my mind. I bet you are an excellent cook, whether you like to cook or not. I really don't enjoy cooking that much anymore and would much rather have other people bring the food...which is actually what we do. Everyone brings something and it's always wonderful! Thank you for doing this again!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. My MIL makes an amazing stuffing and gravy
ReplyDeleteI really love all of the holidays too. Loved your answers! Have a nice week!

Hi Annie~ I'm a four seasons kind of girl too. I could never live in a place that was green all year long...I need change! I love sweet potatoes and cranberries, I make a mean cranberry relish! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I have never baked a pie! When we use to have our big family get toothers, we each made our specialty dishes. Mine was stuffing and candied sweet potatoes. I still have a whole fall cottage at my old website. I even have recipes there. I like the 1938 and 1951 versions of the Christmas Carol.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie! I love the four seasons too, there is something special about each one! I have many favorite Christmas movies, but my all time is It's A Wonderful Life, with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed. Also, another oldie black and white called.. It Happened On Fifth Avenue. I make a good stuffing and also pumpkin pie. I love to bake and cook, we have many favorite traditional meals as well.
