My internet was out until just an hour ago.. all night long from early evening yesterday so I am late with this.
1. when did you last sing to yourself
Today
2. if you’re male, would you ever rock black nail polish? if you’re female, would you ever rock really really short hair?
Nope. Don't like short hair at all …. for me that is. You do YOU.. I don't judge what others wanna do.
well... actually I do judge from a Judeo/Christian point of view as to right and wrong.
3. what is the greatest accomplishment of your life?
I guess my children... I have 5 of them.
4. what is the first happy memory that comes to mind, recent or otherwise?
I don't know off hand but it would involve the seashore I am sure, some music as well.
5. if you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living?
No, I would change nothing and I think most would say they would but wouldn't in reality.
6. do you have a bucket list? if so, what are the top three things? I have one home depot bucket that is very useful I don't need anymore.
Well but actually no, I don't find wishful thinking useful.
7. how do you feel about tattoos and piercings?
Too many seem to indicate a problem with self image or maybe self mutilation but people do what they do and it's ultimately their business. They've been a hallmark of declining civilization for thousands of years though. Certainly a mark of societies that are godless. Now look people.. I am not talking about a couple of tattoos or piercings so don't go nuts here over this.
8. do you feel you had a happy childhood?
I was largely ignorant of things and that leads to happiness. Ignorance is bliss, but I was happy go lucky as a little girl.
8. when did you last cry in front of another person?
Very rare.. VERY. Maybe once at the emergency vet. As my doctor says, I am stoic and find crying in front of people inappropriate.
9. who in the world would you most like to receive a letter from and what would you want it to say?
No one I can think of "in this world".
10. what is your night time routine?
Wash, brush teeth, drink water, say prayers... zzzzz
11. when was your last 3am conversation with someone, and who were they to you?
My dear friend in Texas
12. if you were about to die, and you could only say one more sentence to one person, what wouldyou say and to whom?
Probably... ARGHHH..
13. what is your opinion on brown eyes?
No real opinion. Most of the world has them. Mine are green. My father had brown eyes as did my sister and brother. The rest of us had green or pale gray eyes.
14. pick a quote and describe what it means to you personally.
"Women live lives of continual apology. They are born and raised to take the blame for other people's behavior. If they are treated without respect, they tell themselves that they have failed to earn respect. If their husbands do not fancy them, it is because they are unattractive." Germaine Greer
Germaine often hits the nail on the head. Misogyny is a part of human life since Adam threw Eve under the bus.
And this one: "Anti-religious sneers are a hallmark of perpetual adolescents." Camille Paglia Yes Camille they sure are. 15. what would you title the autobiography of your life so far?
I would not write one let alone title it.
I don't agree with you on 7. Not from a scientifical standpoint (I am a psychologist and research specialist) and not from a cultural one. In many societies wearing a tattoo states where you come from and who you are. Married woman receive a tattoo, so other men know they have to stay away.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is one of the quotes of Germaine Greer that was useful in the sixties.
Many parts of society have changed.
I view bodies covered in tattoos and piercings as a perversion of the image of God. Overall I find Greer always pretty right on target in many areas.
DeleteI think that Germaine Greer quote is still relevant.
ReplyDeleteYep on #8, although I have done my well fair share of crying these past months --and sometimes burst out...and I do get embarrassed at it...but it is what it is, loosing ones only child is not for sissies, just keeping it real. :)
ReplyDeleteTears are God's way of releasing the sorrow of our hearts and souls. It's a beautiful way to release pent up grief, sorrow, or even joy that is overwhelming. I don't usually cry in front of people either, but I often have cried in the shower and let the water wash the tears away. Then I come out feeling clean inside and out. 3am conversation, either with myself or my husband when I just can't sleep or I have to get up to go to the bathroom one more time... #12...I will see you later.
ReplyDeleteAnnie, I sure didn't know you have 5 kids, not that it matters, I have 4. I'm not one for tattoos but if that is your thing go for it. I'm certainly not offended by them either, well, unless it's something vulgar. I don't cry often, so crying in front of someone is really not an issue, but if I did, that would not be an issue either. I don't consider crying a sign of weakness, it's a sign of emotion, tears of sadness or tears of joy. My greatest accomplishment is my family.
ReplyDeleteMisogyny surely has been a problem for millennia.
