surrounded by creeks that run into the bay and overflow with almost every rain. Bridges wash out continually in bad storms.
The bay is right here and gets angry when the rain disturbs her even sometimes to the level of a full blown tantrum with big waves breaking over the shore.
Enough of this it's time for Saturday doings....
"Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally
unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!"

Saturday 9: Wagon Wheel (2013)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it HERE
1) This week, Darius Rucker sings about hitching a ride to reach his lady love. Have you ever thumbed a ride?
No. I walked miles and miles instead. Hitchhiking is for the birds, too dangerous.
2) Along the way, he loses his money in a poker game. Successful poker players are good at bluffing, or misleading others about about their cards. Are you good at bluffing, whether at cards or in life?
Yes. I am very good.
3) Darius began has career as the lead singer of 90s soft-rock band Hootie and the Blowfish. Today he's a country singer. Let's say you're stuck in traffic and only one radio station comes in clearly. Would you prefer it play soft rock or country?
Country music. Actually here, in this particular area of the coast only one station does come in at all.
It's classic rock though and so I never bother listening to it. Now it's not that I don't like it, I just can't be bothered with it most of the time.
4) Darius Rucker will be on tour throughout 2023, playing dates all over the country and making a couple stops in Cancun. Have you ever visited Mexico? If so, where did you go?
No I've not visited Mexico.
5) Darius has lent his talents to fundraising for The First Tee, a non-profit that teaches children "life lessons, self-confidence, and resilience through golf." Did you participate in organized sports as a youngster? If yes, what did you play?
There were no organized sports for girls when I was a kid. We played baseball after school on school grounds. The girls who were good at it got together and played until dinner time. We had a great time. I did run for my Junior High School in track and won several gold medals and one huge 3 foot trophy. I got to keep the medals but the school kept the trophy in their case. I learned at that time how dirty some girls played.
6) A big sports fan, he has six TVs in his home so he can watch several games at once. His largest set is 70". When it comes to TV screens, do you believe bigger is better? Or are you just as comfortable watching from your laptop or phone?
Yup, bigger is always better! I use my phone for nothing but making calls.
7) In 2013, when "Wagon Wheel" was popular, fans were flocking to the movie theater to see Catching Fire, the second in the Hunger Games series. Are you a Hunger Games fan?
No. I don't like movies like that at all. I find them truly ugly.
8) Also in 2013, the word "selfie" was added to the Oxford Dictionary. Do you take a lot of selfies?
Depends what 'a lot' means. I've taken a few with family for fun and a few for use on Facebook and Blogger to use as my photo .
9) Random question: If we paid you $5,000, would you get Saturday 9 tattooed on your right forearm?
Is this a real offer? Answer that first and I will tell you.
I agree with you on #6. I like to watch shows on a big screen. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

#5 I hated high school gym. It was all team sports and I was always the last one picked.
ReplyDelete#6 The only other thing I used my phone for is to play games in the doctor’s office.
#7 Ditto. I’m not into dystopian books or movies. I watched part of one show and never finished watching it.
I can read on my phone but I don't use it for video. It's much too small.
ReplyDeleteI played a lot of sports in school and you are right...many girls play terribly dirty!
ReplyDeleteI loved playing softball when I was in school. We didn't have an 'official' team, but the phys. ed. class always had a team. It was fun. Mr D always has a country station playing in the car, we both like the older country music. I only use my phone for calls too, I don't like trying to look at things on such a small screen.
ReplyDeleteYes, and those means girls grow into mean women, just saying ((grin)). Wishing you a lovely week ahead.
ReplyDeleteI never was good at sports and gym class in school was torture! I use my phone more than I used to but not near what it is designed for. Phone calls, texting, checking email, checking weather temps - that sort of thing. You live in such a pretty area but I imagine you have experienced many a storm.
