No cheeseburger for me. Just having a beef patty, sliced potatoes and green beans for lunch today. I poured some left over spaghetti sauce over the patty and it is very tasty.
Joining in for Saturday 9... try it you'll like it.
Cheeseburger in Paradise (1978)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
From the archives; Repeated in memory of Jimmy Buffett, who died on September 1.
1) In this song, Jimmy Buffett briefly attempts a healthier diet, which included sunflower seeds, carrot juice, zucchini and bulgur wheat. Do you pay attention to your daily consumption of vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, etc.? Yes. I take good care of my diet. I see that I get my magnesium, etc.
2) Jimmy sings that he'd like French fries with his burger. Do you prefer to dip your fries or drizzle the ketchup over them? I like them either way. I like them dipped in gravy or spaghetti sauce or plain! I just like them a lot no matter how they are served.
3) Which cheese would make yours a cheeseburger in paradise: American, cheddar, Swiss, bleu, Muenster, or Monterrey Jack? Swiss or the sharpest of Cheddar thank you very much.
4) Buffett fans call themselves Parrot heads. Concert attire for a well-dressed Parrot head often includes a Hawaiian shirt and a foam fin hat. What will you be wearing tonight? I shall be sporting light gray cotton pants, a black top and steel gray moccasins. 5) For someone with such an easygoing and laidback vibe, Jimmy is a very busy man. His business ventures include liquors, restaurants and hotels. He's also published eight books. All this in addition to making music! On a scale of 1 to 10 -- with 1 being lazy and 10 being highly motivated -- how would you rate yourself this morning? I am a 9 today.. (Friday as I do this meme.)
6) Jimmy has some very famous fans. Paul McCartney asked him to play at one of his parties, and Barack Obama invited him to perform at a fundraiser. If you could invite anyone -- anyone at all! -- to play at your party, who would you ask? No one famous as it would become about them. I would hire a band. Perhaps a nice mariachi band.
7) Jimmy was born on Christmas Day. Does your birthday fall on a major holiday? If yes, do you mind "sharing" your special day? My birthday sometimes falls on Thanksgiving Day and 3 days after my youngest daughter's birthday. So, I often share it. Actually I usually do as we do them on the same day. No, I don't mind at all.
8) In 1978, the year this song was popular, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar was first minted. The initial design was not a hit with the public because vending machines could not accept it. What's the last thing you bought from a vending machine? I was on jury duty. At lunch they let everyone go to a restaurant but I was too disabled to walk that far. I stayed in the jury break room and drank their coffee and ate potato chips from the vending machine. There was a cafeteria but it was closed for some reason. The whole experience was inconvenient for me.
9) Random question -- If today's your birthday, your zodiac sign is Virgo. When did you last check your horoscope?
I don't check it. I run across it from time to time though but I don't believe in it. My zodiac sign is Sagittarius, for what that's worth.

Interesting questions and answers. I was never a Jimmy Buffet fan and couldn't even tell you what songs are his. Somehow I missed out on his genre of music. I also like Swiss cheese or cheddar on a burger. I guess I didn't realize your birthday was so close to Thanksgiving. I am sure your parents were thankful to have you! An extra special blessing for sure! I hope you have a blessed and wonderful weekend, and I pray that storm stays out to sea and away from you and everyone else!
ReplyDeleteI take magnesium too and some other things as well.
ReplyDeleteIs your birthday the 25th? Someone has the same birthday as my mom and I was thinking it was you. Loved your answers! Have a great weekend. ♥
Cheeseburger in Paradise
Yes, I am the 25th!
Delete#3 I like “Seriously Sharp Cheddar”
ReplyDelete#8 Whoa, they should have provided something in place of the cafe. When I had jury duty just outside the federal building was a line of food trucks. They had a cafe but it was… cafeteria food, uck.
#9 Me neither.
I always shared my birthday with my father, and it was never a problem.
ReplyDeleteMorning !
ReplyDeleteRain and lots of thunder here today !
I share your preference for cheese on a burger , but take my fries crispy and plain...more tomato sauce for you !
As to #9 , although the suggested personality traits for my sign explains a lot (LOL) , it's not something I check .
Have a splendid day !!!
The courthouse/judge should have provided something for you since you're disabled. That was not cool.
