The Old Me

Unfamiliar with this week's tune?      Hear it here.
The old me and youngest daughter

1) In this song, the lead singer thanks his younger self for everything he learned from past experience. What's something you learned in 2023?
I learned a lot about narcissists   and to trust my instincts.
2) He admits he did some things he wished he hadn't. Did you do anything in 2023 you wish you could take back?
Yes, wasting time too often.

3) This music video consists of old photographs. Do you have many photos lingering on your phone or camera? Or are you prompt about downloading them?
I suppose its a bit of both.

4) This week's featured artist is 5 Seconds of Summer, a band from Australia. Have you ever been to the land down under? If not, would you like to go?
Never been there and just not interested in going because of the distance.
5) In 2020, when this song was popular, "murder hornets," aka the giant Asian hornet, were spotted for the first time in the United States. Are you afraid of bugs?
Not really. I get rid of them mostly.
6) Enough about 2020! Let's look back on 2023. Did you travel this past year?
Only to go to the rodeo and baseball games.
7) What was the biggest purchase that you made in 2023?
Nothing big this year. In the past 2 years.. a whole new roof and a new mattress were big bucks.
8) What was your favorite book of 2023?
I did my 9 millionth reading of "Mesillat Yesharim" and it is probably a very old favorite of mine and I learn more and more every time I read it. (It means Path of the Just)

9) What are you looking forward to most in 2024?  My daughter is remodeling my bathroom. The toilet was falling thru the floor because of the damage from my awful leaking roof.
So far she has laid in the new sub floor, the new floor, new vanity, new lights.  The new toilet and bidet are in as of yesterday.   We are waiting for the new shower.  Ship lath will be on the walls and new ceiling will go in.  I am super excited.
By mothers day she begins on my kitchen: new floors, black cabinets, butcher block counters, new stove.  My oven has been broken for 10 years!!  Top burners work but, no oven.  Tried to get it fixed but, can't be done.
Thank you to all who prayed for all this and I know that many were.

Annie

  1. It's unfortunate about others instabilities. My husband's brother is a prime example of a narcissists. He went so far off the rails that the entire family had to ban him from any of our reindeer games. Yep. Can't take the constant drama and stream of hate anymore. Sorry that's been your experience too.
Now I'm super excited about your house remodeling also! That's wonderful. Well done daughter! What a treasure she is. Praying that it will all go smoothly.
Happy New Year to you and yours. xx
