Welcome back. Toni Taddeo began this Tuesday 4 question and answer postings and I am continuing it in her honor..
It's been a bit rainy and stormy across the USA this spring and I have seen so many negative sentiments about Mondays. Karen Carpenter sang about rainy days and Mondays always getting her down. Can we discuss it?
1. How do you feel about rainy days? Do they make you happy or sad? Do they always get you down?
At one time it made me sad to see Monday come until I realized I was sabotaging my time by feeling that way. Many times we create our own problems with our attitude.
2. How about Monday. Do they get you down or do you think that just might be a habit of negative thinking?
I do think it is negative thinking. You hate to see the weekend coming to an end, you begin to worry about Monday and therefore miss out on a quality Sunday.
3. Did you play in puddles as a kid? Or were you not the kind that liked getting wet and muddy?
Yes. I liked to play in puddles and would do so on the way home from school on a rainy day. I would sit in class looking out into the dark day watching the rain fall and the cars with their lights on passing by and thinking how nice it would be walking home under my umbrella.
4. Are there foods/meals that you find especially comforting on stormy days? Nosy people want to know!!
I like warm foods on stormy days like spaghetti, chili, stew or soup with lots of crusty bread. I also used to like to have toast with butter and sugar and cinnamon with tea after school. French toast is a great breakfast on a rainy day.
I do love the sound of rain on the roof, Annie, but it does tend to make me sleepy. Mondays? It's all in your attitude!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
A rainy day right now would be great. I like those kind of days. 💙
ReplyDeleteHi Annie~ I love your thoughts about Monday. I never look forward to Monday and the beginning of another busy week. Although, I do love the rain, and loved to play in it as a child. I'm with you, soups, stews, casseroles, toasted cheese sandwiches, anything comfort! I also loved the Carpenter's and this song... so many good memories along with it. Barb
