Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Onward with Saturday 9... I'll Be Loving You (Forever) – 1989
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) A Greek philosopher said, "There is nothing permanent except change." The New Kids on the Block sang, "I'll be loving you forever." Who do you think is right? Or can both be right?
It was said by Heraclitus and he is right. Change is what life is about and it goes on throughout your whole human existence.
2) In this week's song, New Kids lead singer Jordan Knight sings that he can't take a broken heart. What advice would you give someone struggling through the end of a romance?
I am from New Jersey so my advice is suck it up snowflake and get over yourself.
3) Jordan was invited to join the New Kids on the Block by his friend, Donnie Wahlberg. Has a friend ever gotten you a job?
No.
4) Donnie began his show business career as a singer/rapper. Now he's probably better known as an actor, appearing for 14 seasons on a popular police show. Can you name it?
Blue Bloods.
5) Much of the video for this song was filmed in the gymnasium of Xavier High School in New York City. When is the last time you were in a high school gym?
A couple of years ago.
6) The video also shows the boys enjoying pizza. What toppings are on your dream pizza?
Mushrooms, red peppers sometimes but mostly I like a plain pie.
7) The band is back together! The New Kids on the Block will be appearing this summer at the Park MGM in Las Vegas. Do you have any concert plans this year?
No. I really am not a fan of rock concerts and the noise.
8) In 1989, when this song was popular, Irish golfer Rory McIlroy was born. He recently won the prestigious Masters Tournament. Tell us about a competition you won. (Yes, your third grade spelling bee counts.)
I won several gold medals and trophies for running. A few years ago I won a writing contest.
9) Random question – On which game show would you do better: Jeopardy! or Wheel of Fortune?
Jeopardy for syre,
Been wondering about the fires and keeping you in prayer.
ReplyDeleteI heard they made an arrest … I hope the smoke clears soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the fires and smoke you're still enduring, Annie. I do hope that the person causing it will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
ReplyDeleteIt's horrible that someone actually started that fire. I also hate that you are having to breathe that smoke. That can't be good for you. Praying it is put out soon and that you will get some refreshing rains to wash it down and knock the smoke out of the air. But it will be years before your beautiful woods will be restored. Praying for you all. I don't like crowds either. The biggest crowd I can stand is our church, about 80 average! LOL. I won the spelling bee in 8th grade for our school but lost in the county contest. I miss-spelled the word spaghetti! I've had a mental block on that word ever since! LOL. But I still love to eat it! I hope you have a blessed and safe weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about the fire and the smoke. It was horrible here a few years ago when we had one. That is terrible for you. You know a lot more about this band than I!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, I am fully with you on the answer to #2 and I'm from the middle of nowhere "out west"--your answer made me guffaw!
ReplyDeleteAwful fire , born of carelessness . May it be fully contained soon ( just read it's up to 60% contained) , and that no more damage is done to people , homes and businesses .
